I'm very tempted to do it, only that I'd need to find a first line LW if I trade Bouchard. Adding to the temptation is the fact that Ryan Keller used to play in Espoo Blues, whom I support, and I have good memories about the lad. Still, in the game he's only 74 ovr with C potential, so at best an AHL top 6 guy.
What would you suggest, y/n?
If you're willing to trade Butch, I either go down one of two paths:
Butch straight up for Eberle. PMB tops out at 86 in his prime, Eberle gets up to 89/90 if you develop him right.
Butch + 7th for Landeskog. Again, 86 for Butch, 7th is rarely any good. The best I've seen Landeskog is in my current franchise where he is an 88 with B- B B- potential, so I'm hoping/guessing he gets up to 91/92.
First rounders are hit or miss, depends on where those teams are drafting. You could go for it, but you could definitely do better.
IIRC in my last Be a GM game I traded Butch + garbage for Cammalleri + 1st (in season) and then traded Backstrom for Datsyuk (2012 draft). Then I signed Jagr in the 2012 offseason. At some point I traded Seto away (I think he was part of the deal that got me 3rd overall) so my top 6 was:
Just got called for a 5 min major penalty for interference...what the hell.
I'm finding that I get called for interference for looking at someone wrong in NHL '99. Not surprised that its the same in whatever game youre playing.
One thing I have learned very quickly in NHL '99 is I cant win fights to save my life. so what Ive been doing is just not pushing any buttons when some moron from the other team drops the gloves, and I get a 5 minute powerplay out of the deal.
Just beat Dallas 2-1 on the strength of a powerplay goal. Oh, HATCHER wants to drop the gloves with Ricci does he? THANKS FOR THE FIVE MINUTE POWERPLAY, SUCKER!
I am still playing Red Dead Redemption on a semi-weekly basis. Might end up being my favorite 360 game ever when all is said and done. Besides NHL of course.
The first 5 or 6 hours kind of dragged on. I really disliked the herding cattle and breaking horses missions as well as a couple other generic "this is what ranchers do" missions (I like shooting guns).
Once it gets going there's a ton of action, the weapon selection/mechanics/physics are awesome and the characters/storytelling are typical Rockstar. Online deathmatch and online free roam with a friend(s) is why I still play.
Near the middle and end of the game there are some missions that compare to Uncharted with that epic cinematic feel. Meh, fanboy here.
I always giggle when I play NHL 12, have like a 5-0 lead in the 3rd with 5 minutes left to go, and the game literally makes the bounces of the puck go so far in favor of the other team that it is impossible for them not to score.......
that's just the game saying, "no shootout for you!"
My NHL Be a GM mode is so ****ing hax it's ridiculous.

I also had David Musil, 82 overall with straight Bs in potential, traded him + 2nd rounder to LAK for D. Brown + 1st rounder, had a bunch of other Defender prospects that I traded for draft picks, which I trade in bunches for higher draft picks to get those really high first rounders(1st, 2nd, 9th overall, etc.)
I hope enough of these sell by the weekend so I can finish my team. Just need to buy a couple scrub defenders and an 80 or 50 gamer for one of my goalies. I've already got all the needed training cards for them.
Fired up GTA IV last night for the second time in eight months. Thoughts:
- Graphics are horrible, but what can you do
- Driving is still fairly clunky
- Combat is a little better than I remembered
- Storyline is taking different paths even though I'm doing the same things, which is kind of cool
- It's somewhat entertaining but not all that engaging
- Production value is good
Played Detroit and beat them 5-2. Shannahan scored on me, so I made it my mission to lay his ass out on the ice whenever possible. One hit sent him from the red line to the goal line. Take THAT for all the anti-Wild calls youve made this year!

Anyone know if you can do a fantasy draft sorta thing in NHL '99 for N64? Thinking once I get through my Sharks season it might be fun to do things fantasy draft style.
Those goalie interference penalties are terrible
Great great game. I don't think there is a way to do a fantasy draft but I can't really remember
Interference is total bull crap. I score about half of my goals by just throwing it at the net and getting someone in close to camp out looking for a rebound, and it just randomly hands out interference penalties if I sneeze on the goalie.
Passing is hard to do in a zone. Makes powerplays very hard to pull off because about all you can do is drop it back to the point, one-time it and try to chip in a rebound.
One-timers off a faceoff win are hilarious tho. I get one of those every other game.
