Game Notes / Stats

Last 10: Toronto 6-3-1; Philadelphia 4-3-3

Season Series: It's the second meeting between the teams this season, but the first since Oct. 24, when the Flyers beat the Leafs 4-2 at the Wells Fargo Center. Philadelphia makes both of its visits to Toronto in March.

Big Story: Both teams are coming off disappointing losses in which their offense let them down. Toronto got an early goal in Winnipeg but would up losing 2-1, while the Flyers fell 1-0 in a shootout to the Islanders despite controlling play all night

Who's Hot: Kessel has four goals and three assists in Toronto's last three games. Toronto goaltender James Reimer has back-to-back shutouts after blanking Pittsburgh and Ottawa last week. … Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is just 1-1-2 in his last four starts, but he's allowed just six goals in those games, and he allowed one goal or less in five of his last seven starts.

Feel free to add: Streams, BEATS mode. I've got assignments to do, so I did a quick GDT

Go Leafs Go!!!

No sloppiness today because Philly isn't Winnipeg. They will bury us if we slip up.

Great GDT and GO LEAFS GO!

pretty big game to mark the 2/3 pole of the season. a win jumps us right up into the 4/5/6 seed battle, while a loss puts us right back down in middle of the playoff bubble.

testing ourselves against a quality team like the Flyers is also always an interesting thing to watch.

Don't be surprised to see people's view of this team solidifying one way or the other after this game.

Can't let Jagr get 3-4 breakaways in the game.

Pretty easy when you've got a slow defence

He's not that slow. When healthy, he's been skating better than he has at any point over the last 5 years.

In terms of speed he's closer to 1999-2001 Jagr than he is to 2002-2008 Jagr right now.

Not saying Jagr is slow

It's easy for players like Jagr to skate around our defence when they're standing still at the blueline
