Terrible call, barely deserved a 2 minute boarding penatly, but its not like our god awful power play can do anything with it anyway, pretty sure the Devils outshot us on our 5 minute powerplay
Since when did lightly hitting someone cause massive bleeding from the face? Dirty hit, not malicious, though.
I thought it was obvious he didn't get the GMC from the boarding, but instead from the mouthing off? Are people really that blind?
Massive bleeding to the face? Did I miss something? Not watching the game and I don't see "massive" bleeding in the youtube video.
As for the misconduct being given for him mouthing off I once again don't see any evidence of this at all in the video except that it's a little weird that he would be put in the box first then escorted off the ice - this could simply be two referees disagreeing with eachother or one correcting the other.
Either way the damage was caused because of the loss of balance leading to him falling face first into the boards. Foster did not put a lot of force into that, to me it looks like he was just trying to pin him against the boards, a play that happens 30+ times a game.
I've watched Foster play about 90 times over my life time and I can tell you one thing forsure, he doesn't go out and try to hurt guys. He's a pretty good sport.
Probably not deserved in terms of maliciousness, but the rule is 5 and a game misconduct for a boarding penalty that results in an injury. It's automatic, just like a high stick that draws blood or putting the puck out of play in the defensive zone.

Like I said, it was dirty, but didn't appear malicious at all.
