Good defensive player=third liner

Anyway, the only time Eller has looked good on the wing was actually with Plekanec (and Cole). That line didn't last long because of injuries but it was a beastly two-way line, they were complately outchancing the lines they played against, wich also happened to be opposing teams first lines. The % were screwing them but that's nothing a bit of regression can't fix. Now we know Eller ain't ready for 1rst line opp. from center but it would probably easier from the wing (not to mentionned centered by Plek and with Cole on the other wing, both good tough minutes guy)

This could work * This is assuming Leblanc doesn't get a spot tough (wich doesn't seem that likely and that Gomez is still there wich means we need Eller at center)

Eller-Plek-Cole

Main tough minutes line, if they work as well as they did at the beginning of the season, this is an awesome line.

Bourque-Gomez-Gio

Secondary matchups line, don't know if Bourque can play on that wing but Gomez with 2 goalscorers is probably not a bad idea. I know Bourque was a great defensive player a while ago (but he has taken a bit of a dive there), he should be able to handle 2nd liner with those 2. I know people hate on Gomez but if he's kept he has to be used in a "hard minutes eating" role since that's one of his main strenght.

Patches-DD-AK

Let them take loose against third lines, this line has also worked well when put together. AK would probably be helped by less pressure that comes with easier minutes, he tends to do pretty well in those situation. (fun fact: according to behind the net (if I'm reading it well ) AK has faced higher level of opposition than anyone on the team this season, including Subban and Gorges ) Also, DD with 2 snipers, can't go wrong there.

Fourth line, we can pencil in White in there, don't know for the rest. I'd like to sign a Malhotra clone tough.

This lineup should have a big advantage at home with the last change and that lineup has the advantage of not getting that much worse on the road since the "exploitation line" doesn't make the rest of the lineup weaker and is quite probably ES 2nd line caliber.

Absolutely outstanding. I don't think Max is ever going to be a top point getter but he's looking more and more like a 40 goal scorer in the making. He's not fancy but he gets a ton of shots and that bodes very well for the future. And he just seems to be getting better and better. He is the biggest positive story of our year as far as I'm concerned.

On a sidenote, Price was outstanding again tonight. The Isles probably should've won but Price shut the door. Of course Carey gave us a little thrill at the end but still it was a nice effort.

Here is the thread from the 2007 draft... a lot of people wanted Esposito, Cherepanov and Backlund.
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...y+draft&page=1

I think Timmins did alright with the picks (McDonaugh).

If you want to see true bi-polar Habs fans, go look @ page 22 in the GDT. Unreal.

He's still the biggest bum in the world. Only guys making a league minimum salary score a goal once in over a year. 7.5 million.. Good thing we're not paying by the goal. That would have been one expensive goal..

Green light means the clock has run out ( end of period ).
Red light means goal.

The tankers : "tank is on"

The "believers" : "Gomez has the GWG"

But this year, it's sad but true that 2 minutes in the third against the habs is enough to score at least 2 goals. Even that awesome game vs detroit, people were starting to wonder if we'd lose.

Have you ever been involved in hockey in any way ? Because you would know all about this thing called momentum.

The isles get another lucky goal ( unreal this year ) and then of course there is a second goal. But they did good by not letting them score the third goal.

Go Go !

The boys played a good game for 58 minutes...Patches and Price were awesome, and great to see Gomez finally scored, I think the guy was more embarassed once he scored...the team were over the top excited for him, which was great to see....

I just can't hope for them to tank, glad to see 3 in a row, and I do know we will most likely miss the playoffs, but...

One note, if we beat the Leafs on Saturday we are only 7 back, just sayin'...

LMAO at the poster saying Pacioretty has 3rd line potential AT BEST.

Pacioretty was good except for the Streit goal where he looked like a pylon.

Kostitsyn's worst stretch last year was playing with Gomez

Odd how a professional NHL play by play guy (even from Long Island) doesn't know how to pronounce names like Gorges and Plekanec, veterans in the NHL.

It's fine that people were caught in the hype of Esposito but good god, no need to get so dramatic.

A lot of quote worthy stupidities in that thread, from some posters who still post, even. That's why you don't overreact until you've sat back and watched for a while.

Quick, apologize! Turn back the karma gods!

Seriously though, good for Gomer and Max getting his first hat-trick. It would have to be on the night I didn't watch the game wouldn't it?

If Gomez scores the gwg..

In game 7 stanley cup final for our habs, would you forgive him for life and take back all the negative things you've ever said about him?
