Surprisingly good looking: The powerplay. at least the first 2.
Staal is fine. He's not playing all star caliber hockey right now, but he's playing much better than when he first got back, and is showing plenty of improvement. I feel safe when he's on the ice.
Me too - Bickel is more physical and Eminger handles the puck like it's a loaded bomb. Give him a break because it's his first game back, but I'd play Bickel for the aggressive temas like the Flyers and Bruins
BTW, Stahl looks still like a shadow of himself. Imagine how good the defense would be if we had Stahl and Sauer at the top of their game, along with MDZ and Stalman, who has been a very pleasant surprise, and would be fabulous as a 5/6 D.
Eminger is every bit as physical as Bickel and Bickel is even worse with the puck. Bickel sucks. We don't need our defensmen fighting. It's detrimental to the team. Why can't people understand this? Also, it's Staal. STAAL. STAAL. STAAL. It's his fifth year with us. Why can't people spell his name?
A bit late to the party but wow that was fun to watch.
Good: Great bounce-back performance from Stepan. MDZ really played well in transition and in the offensive zone. Boyle-Prust seem to be really clicking again.
Bad: Honestly don't think I've seen total team, 6 man defensive breakdowns like that in a while. Gave me some bad flashbacks.
Redden: A big ol' **** you to Dominic Moore. As much as we need a faceoff guy there is no way I could bring myself to root for him. Honorable mention to Tampa's color guy, gives the Pittsburgh crew a run for their money.
I voted Stepan, because at least he scored and wasn't bad defensively.

feds has been getting the **** kicked out of him all year.
I'd like to say that Moore will get it in return, but unfortunately, the NHL does not work like it used to. Next time the two teams meet, it is most likely that Moore will not receive retribution, which will be too bad.
Game should have been a lot easier, sure didn't feel like a 31-17 SOG type game until the thrid. Defensive coverage wasn't as good as usual tonight, and if they had the jump in the first they did in the third, wouldn't have been so tough
Good: Got some goals on the board. Boyle & Richards get off the schneid. Team plays to the final buzzer and earns a gutsy comeback win in front of the Garden faithful.
Bad: A few guys forgot how to play defense tonight.
Redden: A tie between Dominic Moore and several posters on this forum who actually rung out of a 1 goal game with more than half the third period remaining.
hard to pick a player of the game. maybe the hockey gods? Tampa Bay missed at LEAST 3 gaping huge wide open nets. I dont know how the hell that happened. Rangers badly outplayed them, Biron was not good at all. very lucky and more "there" than anything. players shot pucks into him, and when he was scrambling or wildly out of position the Bolts just flat out missed open nets.

tough to say the defensive coverage isn't good when you give up 17 shots to a team that has Stamkos, Lecavalier and St. Louis.
17 shots to only give up is great, but it's not always indicative of good defense.
I'd say most of those were quality shots, especially in the 2nd period alone. Just no one picking up their man in the slot.
Biron was also leaving some juicy rebounds. blech.
His save percentage in 4 of his last 5 games is .866666666666666
the 1 outlier was a shutout against the Leafs, in which he didnt exactly find himself tested often. Rangers havent given up many shots at all in that span either, only 22.5 in those 4 games (and another 20 in the shutout).
he's been borderline terrible for a little while now. early in the season he was OUTSTANDING. right now, he hasn't given us many quality starts of late. most of his wins are coming a-la Martin Brodeur...thanks to the team in front of him.

yeah i haven't been comfortable with him in net his last 3 or 4 starts. definitely not as comfortable as i was at the beginning of the season. just be happy hes only our backup and hank is the #1

Oh no, I agree.
He had chances for saves, but let up some juicy rebounds. Bad effort on both parts.
Great comeback win, had to watch the TB feed. Play by play guy is fine, but the color guy is just plain obnoxious. Every little thing that goes the Rangers way he makes up some excuse. On Boyle's goal, he said it was the luckiest thing he has seen in a long time. If Stamkos did the same thing, he would've said it was great skill. And when there was a non call on the Rangers, he would ask where the penalty was. When the same thing happens involving a Lightning player, silence. And on the OT goal right after Richards scores, you can hear him under his breath saying "You gotta be kidding me...".
Professionalism at its best; this is what happens when you stick a hockey team in a Southern state with piss poor announcing teams. Nothing against you Floridians, Texans, or Arizona people but what a waste of a team. So I can now add the TB commentators to the Pens (Staggy, what a bull Malkin is!), Chico (what a play by Brodeur, he flopped a little but thats OK), and Philthy (Tasty Cakes?!). Rant over.
i hate garbage announcing...so annoying. i've said it many times, but i am fine with a homer. root for your team. they pay your paycheck...i get it. but don't *misrepresent* the game to put down the visiting team. that just sucks. the rangers announcers toe that line very well. they support the rangers but give credit to both teams and 'call it like they see it'.
