Lapierre vs. Clutterbuck

I thought it was an interesting fight considering the role of both players.

Indeed Lappiere is known for a rat more then a fighter. However, he has been practicing to fight in practice with Kevin Bieksa. It's good that he can answer the bell now.

I counted landed punches at 2-1 for Lapierre. Not a lot of connections for the number of punches thrown

A gentlemen fight.

Bravo.

And nice for both of them to take out their helmet.

Very surprised at Lapierre.

That guy literally had no idea what he was doing when fighting in years past. His technique seems to be much better. Bieksa must be a good teacher.

Good to see both these guys drop the gloves.

What was with all the stuff at the end of the game? Lappy spearing? Bieksa threw a glove? what happened? YT?

I am both shocked and impressed by that. He had 4 fights in 09, but he's on pace to double that this year. And has toned down the 'rat' elements of his game this year as well - great 4th line centre signed a great price.

Probably the best fight I've seen Lapierre get into. No more bear hugging for this French man!

Big win for Lappy.
Greaseball Clutterbuck and his disgusting mustache got nothing on Lappy's smile.

Parros' stache is still better than Clutterbuck's. If I were casting a 70's porn movie, I'd have a hard time deciding between the two.

And yeah, Yappy Lappy with the decision. For what the fight was, which is not much.

Lappy has clearly taken the Bieksa lessons you can tell by his stance as the fight starts. That's classic Bieksa.

Good for both guys for doing it the right way. Lappy has answered the bell a lot this year, he isn't hiding at all.

I'm an Oilers fan and despise Lapierre but major props to him for toning down the shenanigans this year and answering the bell on the regular.

But if you check his fight againt Darroll Powe last year with the Habs, he had the same fighting stance

he did the out-of-nowhere head-fake to Clutterbuck well before the fight, but your still right for the most part.

LOL learning from the guy who got dropped by Tommy K. That fight sure showed his immense progress!

Lapierre is never gonna change, the puck is in offensive zone, at 0:06 you can see them in Minnesota zone dropping gloves but Lapierre being Lapierre he starts fighting only 5 feet from his bench.

That was actually a fantastic fight. I'd like to see more of this in the league, agitators answering the bell and fighting with passion.

Sometimes you get caught with a punch, Bieksa has won considerably more fights than he has lost.

He's a skilled player who can hold his own.

But I guess since you are a Bruins fan you have to find a way to diminish a Canucks ability?

I can't find the interview online, but George Parros once claimed Bieksa to be the best fighter in the NHL that can play a regular shift.

Yeah he'd probably lose to guys like Thornton, Lucic or Mcquaid, but I think only Lucic would win with a clear decision.

Bieksa can handle himself, and shouldn't be fighting 4th liners.
