Tough guy Staubitz (waived today) decided he was going to play tough in the last minute, running around hitting guys. Lappy gave Staubitz a tap in the cup...nothing that doesn't happen every game.

Bieksa through the glove because Dan Hamhuis isn't a fighter and I think it was Clutterbuck was trying to go him with under a minute to go in a 5-2 game.

I think Bieksa would have preffered whoever it was to come after him, but clearly the wild player was 'picking his spot'.

5 feet from the bench?

You must have a hate on for Lappy, he skated to center ice to start the fight....the fight started in the center ice circle.

Clutterbuck decided he was going to try and fight Hamhuis at the end of a blowout and Bieksa wanted to let him know that he'd accept the invitation. Instead Clutterbuck decided to throw gloved punches at Hamhuis with three refs stopping Bieksa from getting involved.

Lappy vs. Clutter**** - Loved the skate to centre ice, make it a show.

Kevin Bieksa on Max Lapierre:

"That was his smartest fight," Kevin Bieksa said. "I can't say enough about the guy. Every fight he has, he scores off the guy. He came into this season and he really wanted to turn his image around.

"He's met all his critics. He's stood up for himself and his teammates. I think you have to notice it. When a guy is willing to stand up for himself, you have to respect it, whether you like the way he plays or not.

"You don't see half as many guys asking him to fight or chasing him around."

And apparently Lapierre has been working on his pugilistic skills:

"I have been working on boxing for a couple of summers now," he said. "It's a matter of confidence. I wasn't really ready to use it on the ice, for a while.

"But I've been building confidence and now I am [ready]. When it's time to go, I'm going to go."

Ya, Lapierre's been backing it up all season. He wasn't really doing too well there at the beginning, but he seems to be picking some stuff up as he goes - good fight.

I love Lapierre's stance this year as the fights begin, old time boxing right there
