I think they should look to the green Whalers jersey for inspiration, as opposed to a green version of the Coyotes jersey.

It's actually a throwback to the original jerseys, but with the Coyotes' arm and sock striping rather than Detroit's. Because the Red Wings, Lightning and Kings (purple) jerseys all use that same template, I thought I would throw in a variation with the three thin stripes rather than the one large arm stripe.

I tried adding blue to the stripes, but that just resulted in something that looked eerily similar to these:

The green could be toned down. I'll post the revised uniform in the next post.

I really took into account everybody's suggestion that the green be toned down, and it looks even sharper now. Thanks for that. It matches the Totems' original uniforms even more so now than before. It's more of a "evergreen forest" sort of green.

Also updated the logo colors to match the set:

Now this is what I'd like to see them wear.

I prefer this old totems logo...

It's actually a totem pole and it makes a T.

I think it would need to be updated a bit, though. Make the animals more easily dentified.

I also like it because it would allow for a true two tone. I never like it when teams sneak in a third color like black just for the logo.

Nice work - evergreen is much better on a jersey, IMO and also better represents the PNW and all of our evergreen trees.

One thing I would prefer would be to incorporate more black besides just in the logo. Black helmet and pants and maybe some trim along with the white.

Would love to see an NHL team in Seattle wearing these!

I like the new shade of green, however the Totem logo has some black in it and it might be good to add some black trim to the green jersey and wear black helmets.

What if it looked more like this?

I agree. If you are going to have black in the logo, a three tone uniform looks sharper. The one you posted looks awesome.

Yes, that looks much better. The other idea above was just too much green and too bright. The extra black makes the whole thing work.

If there truly is an insurmountable obstacle with the copyright on Seattle Totems, what about Seattle Stingrays as a team name.

Same green and black uniforms but with some Stingrays logo or another that's somewhat similare to the ones below. Kind of the same black green and white as above but with a Stingray making the letter S for Seattle.

I wouldn't name them after a tropical fish that doesn't live in Puget Sound. Steelhead, Sockeye, Killer Whales, and the world's largest octopus live in Puget Sound

Here's a quick/bad Photoshop version based on the lines of the current Coyotes jersey.

There aren't any Chinooks in Seattle, it's a weather phenomena located on a leeward side of the mountains. Being a coastal city, Seattle is on the windward side. Maybe Calgary or Denver.

Dang. I was reading all possible names and when I saw the salmon suggestions I remembered we just got a baseball team here named Chinooks and I thought Seattle Chinooks sounded pretty cool so I just threw it out there.

Not wind, fish.

The Chinook Salmon are native to the Pacific NW, including Seattle/Puget Sound.

It's also a helicopter made by Boeing - but built in PA & AZ, not WA.

My name still works then! Not exactly a tough name but it sounds cool.

I missed the weather phenomana part. Maybe I should read the whole thing instead of skimming next time.

Very common in Calgary and southern Alberta during the winter, also known as Foehn Winds in the US.
