I had a great time at the mountain today. I got some free samples from the cider place and cabot on the way back.
This is going to be a good weekend. My friend that graduated 2 years ago is going to be in town, party saturday night, and I'm going to see Rusko on sunday.
Regarding that video with the laptop, good for the dad for not caving in and taking ******** from his kid
What kills me about a lot of parents is how they say about kids today that our generation is screwed, lazy, etc
Do they not realize they are the people responsible for raising this generation of kids?
There are PLENTY of people, close friends and not, that I know who are babied beyond belief by their parents, still have them pay for everything and all that, either have never had a job or can't maintain one and how are kids like those supposed to not be lazy when everything is handed to them?
Something my parents always have reiterated to me was that nothing in life ever comes to you, you have to work for it

what a great post. in the TaN, no less. nice to see something besides people talking about girls like theyre all psycho *******, then talking about scoring with a bunch of dumpster *****, then complaining that they’re forever alone. or seeing posts about how theyre still begging their wives for ******** in their 40’s. great, great post.
my dad made a ton of money working when I was growing up, yet I never knew it. I didn’t know how much he made until I was like a freshman in college. I lost my dad 2 weeks ago, and with him went one of the few remaining people who made you work for everything you got. the funny thing is, those people are never recognized in their own time- they are even despised by some. they don’t do it to be loved- if they wanted to be loved they would spoil you. that’s taking the easy way out. they do it so that one day, you’ll understand why they did what they did…and you can pass it along to your kids, and on and on.
anyway, spot on post. oh, and **** facebook, right in the face.

It's nice to see a post like this from someone in the younger generation.
My parents never gave me or my brother anything, we had to work for it. Obviously as parents there are certain things they do for you that you are extremely thankful for, but I've been working since I was a Freshman in HS and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
I knew there was a reason I liked you outside of here.
i've even seen it just within my own family. i have two much younger siblings and there is a serious difference between the way they were raised and how i was. maybe how they were raised isn't the right phrase, and maybe because i was the oldest they get more leeway because my mom got it out of her system with me, but they get away with **** i never even considered doing. now, to be fair, i was goodie and rarely got into much trouble, but still. things are way different in that house then they were when i was lived there
I was so spoiled by my Mother it wasn't even funny. I mean like it was ridiculous, anything I wanted I got. We didn't have a lot of money growing up, in fact it was quite the opposite but my Mom gave me everything. You know, Italian Mom and her first and only child....I was king.
My Dad on the other hand...He was into all that lifes lessons, earning it, work for everything stuff...But I would just go to my Mommy
My Dad was tough on me, I often wondered if it was all staged...Like at one point they had agreed to play to "Good Cop/Bad Cop".....I'm not sure I took well to the tough stuff....Because when I got it from Dad at home, I went out and beat the **** out of someone in my neighborhood. Usually an adult. I was fond of fighting adults when I was teenager because I figure it was a no lose situation.
