Pacioretty is the full package.

Great wrist shot. Drives to the net. Isn't afraid to take a beating to get a goal. Amazing injury recovery time. Plays with an edge. Habs are loaded.

Guy was asking what the trend tends to be and I told him. Its something people frequently have the wrong impression on as well, thinking that the trend is for goalscorers to have their best seasons later in their career than they actually do.

I like to call players 40 goal scorers after they score 40.

19 goals in 33 games so far this season... that's a 47 goals pace (over 82 games).

Considering he missed 9 games, his pace is 42 goals in 73 games.

It's time to talk about him as a damn good goal scorer. He has the 10th most goals in the last 3 years (67 goals in 156 games).

Who cares about pace, it's not a sure thing. Lets see him do it.

I agree that he's not a 40 goal scorer until he scores 40, but that doesn't answer the OP's question, which is can he be.

While injuries and other things factor into the equation, i'd like to say his current trajectory he'll hit 40 once or twice in his prime if he remains healthy.

Not even being a homer, but Pacioretty could easily hit 45 goals a season given two significant changes. First, getting better linemates...one thing that makes Kessel so impressive is who he plays with, but if Pacioretty was given a center better than Desharnais (not hard to find) he would be much more productive. Second, he needs to become more consistent...Pacioretty is very prone to cold streaks and often goes 10 games with a goal, only to score 2 goals a game for the next 5 games. If he were to be less streaky and get a better center, he could definitely be a top goal scorer in the NHL without a doubt.

I mean Bozak is better than lil Davie but I'd hardly call him and JVR the reason Kessel has impressive numbers

Serious? You must be a wishful Habs fan.

He couldn't score 40 goals in Junior B. Sorry.

That's what he's saying, that Pacioretty and Kessel are in the same situation, producing at a great pace even with ****** centers.

MaxPac has been on a roll for a while now. I don't know if he can be a consistent 40 goal scorer in the NHL but he is definately in that 30-35 goal a year range.

Maybe 30-35? He already registered 33 in a season. He has 17 goals in his past 21 games. Start imagining. It's happening.

He's a very good 2nd line winger. Everyone needs a guy that can chip-in like he does.

Hahaha

Great player- I think he will be a consistent 30 goal guy. He might crack 40 once or twice.

As long as he doesn't shove Chara after an Z loses in overtime he should be alright.

Are there 30 wingers better than him do you think?

He's a first line winger, even I as a B's fan can admit that.

He could score 40 for sure. He already scored 33 in 2012 and he is proving every night that he is a natural scoring machine. If the guy would play under a different system he would have already score 40 imo. Also the injuries dind't help very much.

Given the right circumstances i have no doubt that he could score 40 in a season. But i certainly do not expect him to be any kind of regular 40 goal guy.

Regular 30 goal guy with 1 or 2 40 goal seasons perhaps when its all said and done.

I'm sure he can get 6 in his next 15 as well.
