Rangers at WJC

Are these all the players expected to play? Or are other Rangers possibly playing?

USA - Alavaro Montoya
Finland - Lauri Korpikoski
Slovakia - Ivan Baranka
Canada - Nigel Dawes

I've heard also that Bahensky might have a shot...Callahan might also get some attention for the US, as might Petruzalek for the Czechs.

The other day I was listening to a Kootenay game and the broadcasters mentioned that Dawes would probably be the captain of the Canadian team. Are these guys making this stuff up or has this been mentioned before?

I wouldn't get too hopeful, the WJC occurs around the same time as all of the college football post-season (bowl) games.

Im guessing Dubinsky will get attention from team USA, and Graham for Canada I think he is from Canada. I think Petruzalek will be their for the Czechs. I wonder if Prucha can play he is 22. What is the age limit for the WJC?

What about Jimmy Howard, Red Wing prospect/Maine goalie or is he too old?

Bruce Graham is not a legitimate candidate to play on Canada's WJC team.

He's a good solid player and is having a pretty decent season, but he's not a good enough scorer to play on the top two lines, and he's not good enough defensively/overall to be a checking line player for a team like Canada.

He'll be too old, I believe. Straight competition between him and Montoya would have been interesting, though...

Would he be invited to a WJC camp to try out?

only players under 20 are eligible

howard is too old and no longer eligible...

the 4 goalies invited to the summer camp were Al Montoya, Chris Holt, Mike Brown, and Cory Schneider

unless another candidate emerges out of nowhere (or someone that couldn't attend the summer camp for some reason), then i'd assume that 3 out of those 4 will be selected. with montoya being the #1, someone else being the backup and the 3rd being carried as an extra guy in case of injury

Unfortunately, I doubt it. Steve Bernier is far more likely to get an invite, and perhaps make the team, than Graham. Graham definitely has the tools to be a player, but right now I'd rank him fourth of the "Big Four" the Wildcats have up front (Bernier, Martin Karsums - Bos, and Adam Pineault - Cbus).
