Feb. 12, 2004 -- Simon Gagne and Sami Kapanen scored and Sean Burke, acquired due to injuries to Jeff Hackett and Robert Esche, made 26 saves in his return to the Flyers in a 2-1 win at NY. Jeremy Roenick suffered a broken jaw after being hit by a Boris Mironov slapshot and was knocked unconscious with blood oozing from his mouth. Roenick, who lay motionless for several minutes, got up and as he left the ice clutching a towel to his face, waved to the fans, who gave him an ovation; he missed the next 19 games. Thirty-two seconds later, Keith Primeau was helped off the ice after he collided with Bobby Holik; Primeau missed the next 21 games with a concussion.

Dec. 18, 2010 --Nikolay Zherdev scored twice and Brian Boucher made 24 saves helping the Flyers improve their NHL-best record to 22-7-5 with a 4-1 home win. Mike Richards' terrific feed to a breaking Zherdev snapped a scoreless tie near the game's midway point. Zherdev's goal came seven seconds after his minor penalty expired. The Flyers led 1-0 after two periods then extended the lead to 2-0 before NY scored. Jeff Carter won 13 of 17 faceoffs. Philly held a 39-25 shots advantage including 13-6 in the third period. Chris Pronger missed his first game due to foot surgery. The Flyers completed an impressive streak of four straight wins against top opponents (Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal and the Rangers) and were 10-1-3 in the last 14 games. Jeff Carter and Ville Leino (1-1-2) scored in the first period and Mike Richards added a SHG in the second period. Feb. 20, 2011 -- The Flyers recorded a 4-2 win in NY as part of "Hockey Day in America." Jeff Carter (1-1-2), Claude Giroux (1-1-2) and Scott Hartnell (0-2-2) each had two points and Brian Boucher made 37 saves. Boucher received a stinger early in the third period from a collision with Kimmo Timonen and after being temporarily shaken soon surrendered an odd goal to NY which made it 3-2. Kris Versteeg's ENG was his first goal as a Flyer. NY held a 39-24 shots advantage including a dominating 15-3 in the third period. The Flyers had zero PIMs, the third time in the team's regular season history. Mar. 6, 2011 -- Ryan Callahan (4-1-5) had four goals, Mats Zuccarello (2-0-2) scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves in NY's 7-0 home win. The shutout loss was the Flyers' largest in regular season play since an 8-0 defeat at Dallas in 1990. It was the fourth time the Flyers lost a game 7-0 in regular season history. Brian Boucher (14 saves, 18 shots) was replaced by Sergei Bobrovsky (15 saves, 18 shots).
Apr. 3, 2011 --Erik Christensen and Wojtek Wolski scored shootout goals (2-0 result) in NY's 3-2 win at Philly. Henrik Lundqvist and Sergei Bobrovsky each made 32 saves. Jan. 2, 2012 -- Mike Rupp had two goals and Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves in NY's 3-2 win in the 2012 NHL Winter Classic played at Citizens Bank Park. Danny Briere was awarded a penalty shot with 19.6 but was stopped. Brad Richards scored the GWG 5:21 into the third period. The game was scoreless past the midway point of regulation. Brayden Schenn, his first NHL goal, and Claude Giroux scored 1:55 apart to give Philly a 2-0 lead but Rupp's first goal came 30 seconds later. Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves. Jaromir Jagr re-aggravated a left calf injury, played just 7:09 and missed the next two games. Yeah, this weekend has the potential to be a pivotal point for their season. If they could come away with wins against both Rangers and Red Wings, on back to back, they could really go on a roll. A lot easier said then done, of course.
My buddy got free tickets to the game so I couldn't say no, I guess instead of yelling at the tv I can do it in person, go Flyers hopefully they can pick up a point
I have never really liked the afternoon games for whatever reason, but i sure hope our club can continue with its offensive fire power and start netting more of the great chances we seem to get every game....Love to see Jagr and Roo start hitting the twine a little more.Should be a great game !
