EDITED

To EDM
Penner
Voynov
Fraser

To LAK
Hemsky
Carter
Sanford
Jeremie Blain/Tobias Reider (from EDM)

To CLB
2012 1st (from LAK)
2012 3rd (from edm)
Bernier
Martindale (from EDM)

EDM Give up Hemsky, Maritindale, Blain/Reider, 2012 3rd for Penner, Voynov, Fraser(dump)

So Get a the good young offensive defenceman which they need. And a top six power forward (pending UFA but if picks it up here could re-sign and would be cheaper after his last two seasons). Give up a top line talent, prospect depth.

LAK give up Penner, Voynov, 2012 first, Bernier for dumping Fraser back on oilers, Jeff Carter, Ales Hemsky, A good veteran Backup, and some depth/potentially good prospects.

So get a 30 goal scorer, a .9 ppg winger, a capable veteran backup, while retaining prospect depth for a first round pick and Voynov.

CLB give up Jeff Carter and Curtis Sanford for a 2012 first, 2012 3rd, Bernier, Ryan Martindale.

So they lose Carter, but his value is super low and he obviously wants out but they get a good young goaltender, another first round pick to kick off a rebuild with, a depth pick, and a decent young centre with a good all-round game and good size in Martindale.

Fair reasoning?

So Edmonton gives up an under-performing, possibly due to injury which hasn't healed and might never, UFA-status Hemsky and a 3rd, and gets Fraser, Voynov, and Penner?

Sign me up, but I don't think LA agrees to that kind of fleecing.

Bernier isnt any solution for us. Either Enroth or Lindback, or future... Lehner, but not Bernier.

At first glance it looks like Edmonton is screwing L.A over again..... but two of those guys Edmonton doesn't even want on their team. Fraser gets waived(and probably claimed) and Penner Ends up playing 2nd line RW with Hopkins or Gagner *pukes*

Good post. I agree totally with this part.

LOL

I wonder how Bluejackets fans would feel if you told them that they gave up Couturier and Vorachek for Bernier, a late first and a mid rounder.

No thank you

Dont want Penner back on the Oil, Fraser is a pointless piece and probably gets waived. The only thing i'm interested in is Voynov.

If the Kings wanted to give up Bernier and Voynov and get Carter as the main piece coming back, I imagine they'd just do that deal with Columbus...no need to get Edmonton involved. But, I don't think they want to move Voynov.

I'd rather re-sign Hemsky than take Fraser back, and Penner holds no value as a UFA, so even IF we wanted him back...why now?

The deal is decent for Edmonton. Hemsky a 3rd and Martindale for essentially Voynov. I'd take that. Penner and Fraser give us a couple of vets down the stretch so we don't overplay the kids. Maybe someone gives us a 3rd for Penner? Doubt it, but stranger things have happened.

Adding garbage which has the potential to turn into something almost decent doesn't make it better.

At a second glance I must say I'm incredibly impressed that the moderator didn't lock things up.

The kids are already being underplayed.

We have Horcoff, Belanger, Smyth, etc... to ensure that the kids aren't being overplayed.

Am I the only person who thinks the Oilers should be thrilled with a Hemsky for Voynov swap?

The Kings get too much and CBJ don't get enough. Edm gets what they need though.

I think this is where I'm supposed to say something about defensemen coming to the CBJ and a lack of same in this trade offer.

Seems like a reasonable attempt to me, but frankly I don't know LA very well so I don't trust my own judgment.

Can't understand why kings fans would oppose it.

So Edmonton gives up Hemsky, Blain, Martindale, and a 3rd(I'm actually very happy with Blain since he was drafted), and the only asset they recieve is Voynov. Plus they do the Kings a favour by taking on two negative assets for the rest of the season.
I think its Edmonton that asks to be left out of this threeway

Some people undervalue another team eating cap space in a transaction. I think Voynov has a good shot at turning into a #2 d-man.

Switch up Bernier and Voynov and you've got a deal. As is however..no.
