Fastest skater ever?

Who is the all-time fastest skater in NHL history. And please dont say someone like Rico Fata, cause we all know he was fast but never effective. Just who could flat out fly and used it effectively.
Here are some choices.

Yvan Cournoyer - Made the Russians even look slow in '72

Pavel Bure - Had the jets, used the speed to his benefit better than anyone perhaps

Paul Coffey - Could glide faster than most people could skate

Sergei Fedorov - Deceptive speed, knew when to use it

Pavel Bure from what I've seen. Though if Fedorov gets a mention, I think that Mike Modano should've gotten one as well. I see their skillsets very much a like, including speed.

Bure was the quickest (fastest acceleration)

Coffey was the fastest top speed

But Gartner was both, he was crazy fast and should be on this list.

Voted Bure but Gartner was on my mind before I even opened the thread.

Gaborik could easily be on this list as well.

As far as star players go, yeah. But, Konstantin Koltsov has the highest top speed and fastest acceleration in the NHL right now.

I as well thought of Gartner before even opening the thread.

Other: Mike Gartner

Sergei Fedorov and Bure's top speed were around the same it's just that Bure used his speed more often.

Coffey was easily the most graceful skater to ever play in the NHL, bar none. Nobody in the league compares to him now.

But in terms of flat out speed? Gartner wins. I don't care about the Jason Chimera's and the Koltzov's of the league because they've done **** all. Gartner holds the record for consecutive 30 goal season and that's mostly due to his amazing skating ability.

Here are some choices.
I think that's unfair to say something like that. If Fata was the fastest(which he's not) why should that title not be given to him because he has the hockey sense of a used toothpick? If he's the fastest he's the fastest.

Today it's definitely Konstantin Koltsov, all time it's gotta be Pavel Bure. I've never seen anyone with breakout speed like him, though Gartner could give him a run for his money.

I'd say Bure. Koltsov is a nutcase though.
