Beautiful GDT.

Crap show, but doesn't detract at all.

Going for two!

Headed to the game today. We are from out of town. What is the earliest we can arrive so we can get to our seats, wander the building, and catch warm-ups, etc?

Also, where is a good spot for some lunch ahead of the game? Are there any restaurants on site that anyone would recommend?

Doors open an hour and a half before puck drop, so with a 2PM start time, you can get into the arena by 12:30

Bert's on site is pretty good, but you are paying arena prices (read: expensive).
Baton Rouge is one of the best reataurants close by if you don't mind spending extra on your meal. Lots of other decent restaurants in the centrum too (Moxies is decent food with very short skirted waitresses, if that's your thing)

For the love of god, stay far, FAR away from a place called "SCORES". Worst restaurant in the west end, IMO.

If you want pub fare, Darcy McGees on Terry Fox should have you pretty well covered.

Not entirely sure on the opening time. I want to say the concourse typically opens an hour and a half before puck drop but don't quote me on that. RE: restaurant, I'd recommend Frank Finnigan's, which is close to Gate 2. Good food, decent pricing, friendly bartenders, not usually too packed.

Thanks for the responses guys. I should mention I am in town with my wife and two boys. It is a special trip for my son's 5th birthday. We may check out Darcy McGees or Frank Finnigan's.

Looking forward to my first sens game in a couple years.

Oilers were my team as a little kid (although pretty much every kid liked them then...mid-80s)...so looking forward to this. Hoping for exciting game, lots of goals. And, as a long time Sens fan (since I came to Carleton in the mid-90s), very happy to be present for Philips' ceremony!

Cheers!

Go Sens!

Afternoon game.... guess I'd best finish up my writing this morning so I have the afternoon/evening free for Hockey Day in Canada. Was great to see HDIC live in person when it was hosted in my former town (Winkler) a few years ago. GO SENS GO!

Oh you were from Winkler? That's cool. I have family there.

And this is a game that would be good to get two points out of. I will sadly be heading to the Leafs game to hope I watch them lose, because we need to make the gap a little larger.

Love the Fat Cats avatar.

Hope you get to enjoy a Sens victory followed by witnessing in person a nice Leafs defeat.

I'm no cats fan -- so I needed something funny!

And I hope for that as well!!! I lost a bet with my bf and now have to wear a Leafs jersey... so beer will probably have to get me through the game. And a Leafs loss and Sens win will CERTAINLY help!!!

So let's go Sens!!!
