G: Miller, Roy, Ennis, Poms, Lehtonen, Ruff/Patrick on that tying goal
B: Regehr, Stafford snakebitten
U: MAH GRIGS, that miss at the end of ot

Say what you will about Roy but the reaction after his goal was pure 05-06.

Good:
-Vanek looked good in his first game back. He has to bury that one at the end of OT though.
-Miller had a solid game.
-Gerbe's shootout goal. Lovely.
-Roy and Ennis both had great games I thought.
-Myers late.
-Poms conducts himself like a professional every single night, and he seems to be respected league-wide by opponents and refs.

Bad:
-Still flat at times.
-Vanek's OT miss.
-Ott.

Nothing in the ugly. Keep winning.

Didn't get to watch the game tonight, but what a win. I saw we were behind but during this winning streak, I never doubted the boys. They pulled out a real big win. Well done. Keep winning, keep having fun!

I don't disagree, but what especially made you think of this?

As lame as it sounds, just watching the games and paying attention to play after the whistle/before the faceoff. He seems to have the same respect that Drury garnered when he was here. If he's on top of a goalie, or scoping out a loose puck in the crease, he's not exactly getting pummeled after the whistle. And this happens consistently. Players just seem to respect him and his workmanlike approach to the game.

For the way refs view him, that's just speculation based on how often he seems to have cordial conversations with the stripes.

If Ruff ever puts MAG in the lineup he is showing that he wants to be fired.

That holding call on Leino in the 3rd was brutal. Terrible call.

I was encouraged by the way the Sabres didn't let bad breaks and bad calls like that send them into a tailspin, like in the past.

G: Character win
Miller - nuff said
Vanek - crashed to the ice numerous times and hung in there although hurt
Kaleta - in everyone's face not backing down
Poms - directed shot for Vanek deflection, set up pass on 2nd goal
Patrick - or who ever diagrammed a play that worked
Ruff - stay in the press box... please!
Lehtonen, Benn and Ott

B: coasting thru 2 1/2 periods
Myers - off game tonight
Ehrhoff - sleeping off the hangover?
Ref's

U: Sylvesters lame closing summary statement (Sabres pull victory from the jaws of disaster.... my wife asked "did he ever play any hockey?")

Really enjoyed Miller's head fake into poke check during the shootout. Really on his game.

The Good:

- Vanek had a good return and a pretty deflection.
- Roy has been a lot better lately and buried the GTG in the last minute.
- Miller, yet again.
- Stafford seems to be gaining some life, just not converting.
- Getting the two points.

The Bad:

- The first two periods, not generating enough offense.
- Some of the officiating, but hey, we won, so I can't complain.
- Not enough energy early and the building was really quiet at times.

The Ugly:

- Nothing I can immediately think of.

Maybe I never noticed but it feels like that was the first time I saw Miller "fist pump" (sort of) and cheer with a win. He seemed overly excited and pleased with that win. As he should, he's been amazing. Great game overall. What a comeback.

That faceofff win was all Stafford hustling for the loose puck.

Probably should start a thread on this but it's not hard to imagine Lindy being the next GM and this being the start of that transition.

I keep reminding myself that Darcy's contract was offered by Quinn/Golisano while Ruff waited for the new ownership.

Darcy gets moved to Assistant to the President or some othere flunky job versus fired.

Sorry Mr. Moderators, I know this is not GBU content.
