Quality >>>> Quantity

Think Seguin or Krejci as the centerpiece. We would rather have one excellent piece than 6 mediocre ones.

Agreed. If Weber or Suter go to Boston in a trade you guys are going to be parting with a forward from your top six (think Lucic, Krejci, Seguin, Bergeron) as the centerpiece coming back, and items are added either way as needed to balance it out. The Preds aren't sellers looking for futures. They are a team looking for a piece to take the step into legitimate contention for the Cup. Contract situations are none of our concern because of this, so if a team does not want to give full value because of contract status they need not inquire.

There's no way in the world one of those two would be traded without at least one proven, top six forward coming back in return. We need one of those pieces even if we keep Suter and Weber.

On that note though, I've always considered the Bruins and Preds to be relatively similar clubs in their make up and style. So it would be interesting to explore possible trades between the two. Also, FWIW, Boston is a team I could see Suter going to hypothetically.

lets keep one thing in mind... Suter and Weber WONT be traded in season. We are good enough to think about winning a couple of rounds this year and so we dont trade either of those two now.

this summer, if Suter wont sign, his rights will get traded for something, though not a lot..

if Suter wont sign, and weber wont sign anything more than a 1 year deal, then I could see a deal being made for Weber, but not before this summer at the earliest.

Honestly, Weber and Suter have reached the stratosphere Bruins can only hope Seguin reaches. Bruins fans think Sequin is untouchable, and scoff at any trade proposals, but I think of Weber and Suter on the same level as the top 5ish forwards in the league (like Stamkos, Malkin, Kovalchuk, etc).
