Because you know how X team has their players ranked. I did an entire 7 round mock last year, with comments, and its a difficult process since like you, I am simply a fan at home. I watch a lot of hockey and I read a ton about prospects. I have found quite a few posters and bloggers whose opinions I give value to, and that is how I ranked and mock drafted the players.
You may not want your team to draft X player over Y player, but don't act like you know that it won't happen.

That out of the way, a couple of questions for you:
1. Ivan Nalimov - a Russian goalie out of the MHL? I've never heard of him. Maybe the next Bobrovsky? You have him rated as a second rounder, what have you heard about him that would make you rank him ahead of Dansk, Korpisalo?

2. You are from Quebec not? I am assuming that you have had a chance to see some of these prospects play which is why you have Charles Hudon rated so highly. Can you give me any info on some of the Q prospects. I am especially interested in the d-men form the Q. There is noone rated to go high amongst the QMJHL defenders this year. Central Scouting has Ryan Culkin at #89 as the first. You have Dillon Fournier as the 20th and your top Q prospect. I too have heard good things about Fournier, just looking for anothers opinion.
thanks for the good words. I can only agree with you just said

I have to admit I have never seen Nalimov play at all. I first heard of him at the Junior A challenge back in the fall. I started keeping track of himm in the MHL only to notice that he was doing just as well as Vasilevski up to a month ago. Vasilevski has since taken over but still. Nalimov is having a great season in his domestic league.

Kid is playing on a fairly good team however but his play has been equally as good. I generally like goalies who play on weaker teams but still. Nalimov has good size and is very young. Something I value a lot. He'll be among the younger players of the draft, so still plenty of time to develop. Honestly, I can't comment much more than he's played well so far this season statistically. Among the best in the MHL.

Charles Hudon had a very good rookie season on a disapointing Chicoutimi team for the last 2 years up to the latest trade deadline. The team was supposed to contend for the higher ranks with Gibson in net but the whole team has been wildly inconsistent and disapointing outside of 1 player. Charles Hudon. Obviously, size isn't great in his case. However, I've never found a good correlation between future performances of a player and his size. For as long as you're of ok size, like Hudon size I'm not of the opinion he should be knocked down for that reason.

Also, other issue with Hudon is his skating. Though I find it perfectly adequate, people expect a smaller player to be faster than others around him, which is not the case with Hudon.

However, he's got tons of goods going for him. Hockey sense is top notch. Though he's not the same, I compare him to Jordan Eberle. On paper they test the same. Hudon is always at the right place at the right time. He'll score the beautiful goals just like he'll score the garbage goals. Not afraid to go in front of the net and shoot from the tougher areas. Not a perimeter player by any means.

Defensively he's quite good. Not a future defensive specialist but one who'll do his job and may chip in with some production on the PK if need be.

Being from Quebec City I'm more familiar with Culkin. The guy is a cardio machine. Easily the best physical attributes of any Remparts player this year along with Fred Roy perhaps. Btw, that's not me saying it, that's his physical trainer who talked about him not so long ago. The guy is a machine basically. There's no wow to his game. He's just a solid defender who can play forever. Not very physical. But for a team that values stick play and good positioning from d-men rather than bone crushing hits, then he has value for you.

Dillon Fournier is a very good 2-way d-man. More physical than Culkin, just as steady defensively, more offense to his game. Type of player you can easily like. Watching him play you think the game is easy. Effortless player for the most part. His game has grown tons this year in Rouyn-Noranda under coach André Tourigny.

That said, I'm a stats not so much a scout guy, so take this with a grain of salt.

Damn, I hate Winnipeg's position. So many good players JUST slip out of their hands.

I do really like Collberg though.
