Boston D looked like poop yesterday against NY Rangers.
Hamilton plus 1st is similar what Bruins trade for a bum like Kaberle.

If we do this deal we have a real shot and money to go after Suter this summer and would have.

Suter Coburn
Mesz Hamilton
Bourdon XXXX

and we would draft twic ein 1st round. Maybe would be able to trade up to get Griffin.
And what happens when we don't get Suter?

I can't see how simmonds name even comes up. He's been great this year. Even in nov/dec when he wasn't scoring he contributes every shift. He's forced a lot of turnovers and delivered some nasty hits.

The sky is the limit with him...hopefully being around a guy like jagr (I hope he comes back) is going to give some of our guys some great offseason training regimen. Show these young players how to be a pro and we are set for years up front...

Suter is not the only UFA available. You make trades, you sign quantity, you implement d-sive system.

Of our young forwards I consider Simmonds to have the lowest upside.

That's the only reason I mentioned it.

And you have to give to get. It's not like Toronto's just going to take our 1st. That doesn't help them.

I see read with the least upside.
In this case i don't want to give. We really don't need to get. Luke Schenn changes nothing this year...he has lots of holes...it's purely a long term d target.

Because we we have done such a good job adjusting with a weaker team d this year?

There are pretty much 3 "top" d men out there as UFAs this year (Suter, Carle, wideman), competent replacements are few and far between.

IMO the 25 and under club value/upside ranks...

1. Giroux

2. Schenn
3. Couturier
4. JVR

5. Simmonds

6. Voracek
7. Read

Can't we just trade Voracek for Schenn? Come on Burke. I mean this Schenn's value Voracek. Not JVR.

Leafs Schedule:
Edmonton Win,
Vancouv Loss
New Jersey Possible Loss
San Jose Possible Loss
Washington Possible loss
Florida Possible win
Chicago Possible loss

I mostly agree with you. I'd move jvr down to 6 though, only because he's had a rough year and has no real history to back it up...plus his cap hit, others have stepped up and produced, ect...

We have a good problem of having alot of really good young players.

Watching the Montreal game tonight has led me to like Alexei Emelin.

I don't know the oiler fan that proposed it didn't seem like it was a joke. The other oiler fans in that thread are trolls of course though

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Scribes in EDM for Oilers-Leafs will correct me if I am in error, but hearing some chatter that Luke Schenn will be scratched tonite.

Watching the same game. Hal Gill is a turnover machine. I hope Homer is watching. Gill just sucks.

It's kind of intriguing but kind of worried... especially if the Flyers are involved (don't know if they are, just saying if they are at all)... I dunno...

I only caught about 10 minutes but I saw him have a very strong PK.

I hope we get him some how. He looked great when he played his game against us the other week. If he keeps getting scratched his value has to be going down. No GM will be giving you a kings ransom for a player who won't scratch the lineup

Luke Schenn Scratched, Likely Coach's Decision

Toronto's Luke Schenn has been scratched for tonight's game according to TSN's Bob McKenzie. McKenzie says it is not likely to be trade related. Sorry, Flyers fans.
