Didn't we already make the mistake of paying for a goalie when I told everyone that it's better to not pay enormous sums whether in assets or cap? Why are we playing this game again? Enough with the goalie drama. Sit and watch and hope and be pissed about its current state. That's all we can do now.
Carey Price =/= Ilya Bryzgalov . . . and me and a ton of other people would've said the same thing before his rights ever got traded. Bryzgalov's A-game is basically Price minus a great deal of athleticism. And that's ignoring how often Bryz is (or isn't) on his A-game.

I agree with you that we've made our goal tending bed with that contract though. No sense even fantasizing about trades, there's thing to do now but lie in it.

People don't appreciate Carle's skill set because it aligns so closely with the team's strengths and weaknesses. He's good at what we already do well enough and his weaknesses are what we're worst at, so we grow frustrated with him easily. He isn't given the credit he's due for what he brings to the table IMO. That said I could see him moving for someone that fits our present needs more, especially now that Pronger's no longer reliably available to play with Carle.
I tend to agree. Carle has a very specific skill set...and when used right is a good compliment to a defense. The problem is, when he is played 22+ minutes a night and in key situations, for example the PP with his none existent shot, his weaknesses are magnified and he struggles.

I like the idea of Kubina. It sounds like they could get him now and for pretty cheap. I think he could def help, and he opens up more options for them over the next 10 days.

You can't pay all of Grossman and Pronger and Carle.

Swap Bourdon for Gustafsson and that's the best case scenario.

Pronger-Suter
Timonen-Coburn
Meszaros-Bourdon/Gustafsson/Bartulis

would be mine. A healthy Pronger, the cap goes up a good chunk and Suter comes our way. I've been a very good boy lately, and I think I deserve this dream to come true.

so theoretically speaking what if

pronger still doesn't feel right at the start of next season, and the flyers decide to pick up suter, resign grossman, etc.

then midway through the season pronger miraculously recovers and has to be taken off the LTIR

are we ****ed?

Adding Johnson or Schenn would make this team much better.

Timonen-Coburn
Mez-Schenn/Johnson
Grossman-Carle

So Snider demanded it (during the third period of the Rangers game), so it shall be done.

I've been saying it for awhile, If we can get Schenn I would love it. Also though if JVR can get Johnson or Schenn, who would you trade for?

I'd rather go for Schenn because he probably keep Brayden around on hometown discounts when the time comes. However, JJ wouldn't be bad either and would add a different element to our team.

Which Johnson are we talking about? Erik or Jack? I'd rather Erik Johnson over Schenn, but I'd rather have Schenn over Jack Johnson. That being said, I certainly wouldn't complain if they got Jack Johnson.

I have a question about trading injured players. If a team like Toronto would want JVR, even if injured, is that allowed? I doubt they ever would do that, but is that but can a team knowingly trade for an injured guy?

If they go and suck the rest of this game, JVR or somebody is gone for Schenn or Jack Johnson. I don't care if they lose a game, with effort. when they lose like *******, I ****ing can't stand it. I need another nasty dman that will help this team clear that crease

Awful rebound control by Bryzgalov. I don't know how he managed to kick a shot towards the post back right into the slot. Thankfully, Gustaffson saved his rear.
