If they ARE talking serious. And having a meeting where one GM meets another in person, seems to be "serious" I think they might be talking Nash. Not saying they 100% are but possibly.
Maybeee...

Schenn Bob Gus + salary dump? for Nash? Bob would have to be included in any deal I think.

Like I said, these teams don't appear to be ideal trading partners, but something appears to be up here. A GM doesn't come to scout another team with two scouts and have a long face to face with another GM unless there is something big going on.
GM's scout other teams all the time. Steve Yzerman showing up in Toronto a few weeks ago was a national story.

"All the time" is a bit liberal. Besides, it's two weeks before the deadline.

Two scouts and a GM, and the GM has a lenghty meeting with the home team's GM, two guys who just traded with each other last summer, one team clearly a buyer and the other clearly a seller. That's a lot of smoke to ignore. Obviously it doesn't mean they will make a trade, but they certainly appear to be having some legitimate trade discussions.

Agreed, they can't afford to give up the assets it would take to get Nash when they are in desperate need of adding at least one defensmen.

JVR for Wisniewski??
Philadelphia won't take on Wisniewski's huge contract.

I suspect it's something regarding Voracek going to Columbus in exchange for Pahlsson or something on the same lines.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bobrovsky is asked about from a Columbus perspective, despite Sanford's performances recently.

Who would want that contract? And with the rumours of Carter being available, Wisniewski also being traded/rumoured to be available would lower that organizations reputation even more so.

No, it's not. GM's going to other games happens on a fairly regular basis. It's a big deal today because it's 2 weeks before the trade deadline.

A. You don't know that they wouldn't take on his contract. For JVR, probably not. For Bryzgalov or in some either deal, it's certainly possible with their desperate need for a defensemen.

B. Why would the Flyers trade Voracek back to Columbus already

C. Voracek is worth WAY more than Pahlsson

Tyutin is going nowhere. He is the equivalent to what the Rangers value MDZ or the Flyers value Coburn. They will not trade him unless its a significant upgrade at that position. I cant be more clear.

Do you really think Wiz would complain? Im fairly confident in saying he didnt pick Columbus for the nice scenery.

How do we know this is even about a trade? I think it was some sort of GM intervention. Bettman was just in Columbus for a game, saw how bad that team is ran, and made some calls to other GM's to try and talk some sense into him.

You do know that Dekanich had season ending ankle surgery last week? You could replace him with Mason and make the pick a second.

Thanks for proving my point for me, it's two weeks before the deadline. Conventional wisdom says there could be something to this. It may not mean a thing, but it may and you certainly can't just dissmiss it because GM's scout other teams at times.

Why on Earth would the Flyers trade Voracek for Pahlsson?

Well sure, but it's not like any NHL GM needs two scouts with him to deal for known, "fairly significant" players. More than likely, if there's even anything to this, some lesser-known prospects are involved.
