Yes or No?

I wouldn't be upset. Although, I do want one more depth defensemen.

"Yes, I would be okay if we did nothing."
"No, I would not be okay."

No. There shouldn't be an issue bringing in at least a depth defenseman and a bottom 6 forward.

Yeah, defense is the main issue. I don`t know if I can handle watching Rome in the playoffs.

All we need is depth, but I'd be upset if we stand pat and a good depth guy goes for cheap.

No. We need depth on the blueline.

I'll be extremely disappointed if there isn't at least some sort of blueline help brought in.

Completely content with the forward group as is though.

I really think, like most of the others in here, that another defenseman (to push Rome/Alberts down a spot) is needed.

Wouldn't be too upset if we stood pat, but I'd definitely like to see us add some depth if the price is right.

Maybe we do nothing to our defense and just call up Tanev? Does MG think he is ready to play a top 4 role for the playoffs if asked upon?

Tanev was an absolute stud when he was called up.

Yeah, especially in Game 5 of the Finals. I'll never forget him being robbed of an assist because of Tanner Glass' stupid ass.

Sure hope Tanev gets called up at least a bit before the playoffs. Going from AHL speed -> NHL speed -> Playoffs speed is a lot better than just going AHL speed -> Playoffs speed (even though he did acquit himself well last season).

Honestly it all depends on the asking price that these deals will require.

I'm not ready to give up the farm for a stud as I don't think that's necessary.

Every year you see TSN or Sportsnet claiming so and so team won the trade deadline because they got the biggest name and every year for the most part that team ends up losing in the 2nd round.

However if we can make some smart hockey moves that will benefit both teams I won't be opposed to paying a premium of a certain player that will be suitable in the playoffs..

Not to mention we got a few players capable of surprising us in their game with Tanev, Reinprecht, and Bitz. Gillis might feel we have enough depth to stay pat..

So in the end its a maybe for me.

I don't think the Canucks need to trade for any major blockbuster acquisition, but it's clear depth at defence is needed. Obviously, Chris Tanev may be our ace in the hole, but going into the playoffs we may need one more blueliner. Perhaps Bryan Allen or Adrian Aucoin?

Apart from that, Travis Moen may be worth a look at forward, but given he's big trade bait at the deadline it seems that teams will harshly overpay for him.

If the Canucks don't do anything, it's not necessarily the end of the world, but it would be wise to pick up one more defenceman.

I have a feeling Moen is this years Marty Reasoner.

Wouldn't be happy if we don't land solid help for the D, but I'd accept that the right deal just wasn't there if nothing happened. Willing to trust Gillis.

With the emergence of Bitz and counting Reinprecht, I don't see MG paying anything significant to upgrade the F crew.

It would be nice to get a top 4 capable D in case Salo gets hurt but with what's his name on the farm, I'm OK with MG staying out of the shopping spree.

I think Gillis will likely make a minor depth move, but I'd rather make no move than make a really bad move.

I would have been more okay with not adding anyone last year.

I think we need to add a D.

I wouldn't really be upset or disappointed in the slightest if Gillis didn't make a move but a Brett Clark or a Bryan Allen to shore up the D would be nice, I admit.

We don't need "depth" on the blue line per say. We need someone who can step into a 4-5 spot and play 18-20 minutes a night, if we make a move for a d-man at all.

When people say depth d-man, I think of the Alberts and Sulzer's of the world.

I have similar feelings about picking up a forward. Like to see a big bodied 3rd liner who can play in both ends. Guys like Malhotra, Weise, Bitz are fine 4th liners (salaries aside).

True without the additions of Lapierre & Higgins there wouldn't have been a riot.

No I'd be very upset. This team needs a bit of help on D and arguably one more forward and more then anything they need a kick in the ass...
