As a Blues fan, I would love it. It would probably be at Busch since it's been at Wrigley already.

I think it's at least two years away, but I for one would love it.

I hope so. Would make for a great Winter Classic, if only for the fact that we might see something along these lines:

I don't think so. St Louis is not exactly a huge market. If St. Louis wins the cup this year it ups the chances and becomes more likely.

They'd do Hawks vs Vancouver before Hawks St.Louis

In terms of probability IMO...

Hawks @ Wild
Hawks @ Vancouver
Hawks @ St. Louis

Even if the Wild aren't the North Stars and we aren't rivals with them, I still think that is the most likely choice. Minny needs a Winter Classic and the Blackhawks are one of the most popular team in the West and are close in proximity to the Wild.

I just don't see the Winter Classic ever going into Canada. It's an NBC thing primarily. If it's Hawks/Vancouver, it would probably be played at Soldier Field.

Canada has their own outdoor heritage cup so I doubt they'd double up with the winter classic. I think they'll go back to Wrigley in a few years after they do their alleged renovations in the next couple years. I think they'd be more likely to hold it in Kansas City than St. Louis.

But chances are good that the stupid classic is going to be east-coast centric for the next 3-4 years again now that they've got a midwest venue booked for next season.

A Bruins fan I know who works for a TV broadcasting company told me that there are rumors of the Blues being the host team in a Hawks/Blues game down at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.

"Host team" is right. Place would be crawling with red sweaters.

If that happens, I'm buying a damn ticket, no way I'm missing out on that. Memorial stadium would be a pretty awesome place to watch an outdoor hockey game. It's a cozier venue then most football stadiums.

Yeah...no way in hell that happens.

The Hawks are due to be the road team in this thing some time soon, but I don't think the Blues will be involved. My guess is Hawks @ Caps in 2014.

I can't see them hosting it in STL for risk of the ice being terrible.

The ice is gonna be the same no matter where it is. This topic has been beaten to the ground across HF.

Hard to imagine the Hawks and Caps. No rivalry, no history together...literally there's no reason I can think of for them to match up in the Winter classic.

If Obama wins the reelection, I could see it as a way to get him to the game for the opening puck drop. I could see Obama throwing on an Indianhead sweater or hat kind of like what AJ Pierzynski did last season in Phoenix.

It doesn't matter, it's 2 big TV markets with a few of the biggest stars in the game, and that's all NBC really cares about, this coming one with the Leafs excluded. The Flyers and Bruins have never had a hardcore rivalry and they made that one work. Neither have the Pens and Sabres. Caps have pretty much been guaranteed one at home in the next few years.

That's really grasping at straws.

I don't think Washington DC is a bigger market than St. Louis is it?

DC is the 7th largest metropolitan area in the country, with a population around 5.5 million

STL is 18th, with a population just over 2.8 million
