I don't think the hawks would have to give up that much to get Burish, and for bringing in a solidifying presence that could change the gloomy locker room failure mentality that's permeated the franchise, I think it'd be a worthwhile investment.

I love to have them both. Great Lockerroom guys and the are good at what they are doing. Burish is a 4th liner who plays with energy - soemthing we need and Sopel is a vet presence #7/8 DMan - something I want over Lepisto

Sopel was awful. He was John Scott bad and was too slow to get out of the way of point shots. Lepisto is twice the player Sopel is, now and then.

Heard on the Score Ryan Miller said he'd waive his no trade clause to come to the Hawks per a report on the Score. Not sure that qualifies even as a rumor but thought I'd put it out there.

I'd try and rake them over the coals to overpay for a hometown hero. If the Hawks are seriously entertaining this deal for Kane, I would ask for at least Miller, Roy, and Myers, to start.

Looks like a deal must be in the works for Kubina as Yzerman is saying he will not dress until he is traded. Is he coming our way?

I don't think Bowman has the balls to bring in any good players. If Kubina could be had for a 2nd rounder it would make way too much sense for SB to consider it. My guess is he's going to San Jose.

Bowman probably values the 2nd too high. I hope not.

What about Chris Stewart who has been made a 4th liner. He's a big body power forward and would look great with Kane and Toews.

They won't trade him to us and if they did, we'd have to overpay and that is not a player I would overpay for, effort issues his whole career.

Buffy 2.0. Absolutely love him, St. Loo would be crazy to trade him in the division.

I'm not parting with Kane for any goalie, especially not a 31 year old goalie who may be past his prime.

Completely agree. Even bringing in an elite goalie would only be putting a bandaid on a stab wound.

Sounds like Yzerman got spooked after seeing what happened with Ruutu.

Keith - Seabrook
Leddy - Kubina
Hjalmarsson - Montador

Yeah, I could live with that. Especially since Kubina's picked up his D lately.

I'd part with Bolland, Hjalmersson, or Stalberg as part of a deal for Miller but guys like Kane, Keither, Sharp....nope.

I hope it happens. I'm going to be pissed if he gets dealt for something we could have given them.

It'd be funny getting Kubina after he elbowed Bolland in the head last year. But if he can help us and the price isn't ridiculous, so be it.

Crawford + 2nd (13) for Kubina + Roloson
Miller for 1st + Pirri + Roloson

That would be awesome

why on earth would we demote our most consistent defensmen to the third pairing to put Kubina with Leddy? Leddy/Kubina sounds like we're just tempting fate...

I originally had it with Leddy and Hjalmarsson swapped.

Then realized that would never happen.

Buffalo is going to want a lot more than that for Miller. Really it depends on how close Buffalo sees themself. If they want to blow it up you could get Miller for 2 or 3 prospects and a pick, if they think they are close you are probably going to have to give up a valued roster player like Bolland or Hjalmersson and a prospect or two.

yea, good point.

Ideally, it would be hjalmarsson-kubina, but the chances of that would appear to be nil since the hawks seem dead set on keeping leddy in the second pairing.
