I don't think Bowman has the balls to bring in any good
Unfortunately, this is most likely true.

Nicklas Grossman traded to Philly for a 2012 2nd round pick and 2013 3rd round pick.

I would've been content with that.

Good pickup for Flyers but there continual trading of picks is baffling as there farm system is not that great (Nor has it been for some time)

Would have loved him on Hawks but I imagine cost would have been too great with Stars in playoff picture still chasing Hawks

2nd + 3rd from East probably would have meant Stars were wanting good prospect + 2nd or 1st straight up from Hawks if they were interested

Flyers are in win now mode, so I think that's why they are willing to give up the picks. They dumped Carter and Richards, signed Bryz... Jagr.... clearly they are not a team afraid of making huge moves to get the cup.

Bryz was a huge mistake, they got worse imo.

They made moves because they weren't going to win a cup with the guys they had. We have won a cup with the guys we have.

they got tons of young talent though in Voracek, Schenn, Couturier, Carle, Bob, Simmonds, JVR

their D is old as hell though.

The Flyers have believed themselves to be in "win now" mode since the Lindros trade.

They don't need a full rebuild right now, but that strategy has really gotten them into trouble (especially with Bryz)

Is Joe out of his ****ing mind? In what world does a UFA-to-be get you a blue-chip prospect?

There you have it Bowman haters, he's not "sitting on his ass", teams are just being unrealistic.

now I lost the little respect I've left for GM Joe... I liked him as a player but as GM...

Would have loved Grossman and Moore, but not with that price. I'd overpay for a player we need and that is worth it - like Vokoun, Nabby or Harding

wouldn't say it's unrealistic to demand it. The Stars are chasing us, why would they help us out without massive overpayment?

It's extremely unrealistic. In what world would Bowman have ever said yes? Asking for a 1st round pick would have been an over-payment, asking for Saad just.. *beep* *beep* *beep* you're call has been disconnected.

HB on twitter mentions Grabovski as good 2C option for hawks, and goes onto say Leafs would want McNeill. What do you guys think about that?? IDK much about Grabo.

watching the flames/stars game, Dreger mentioned that the leafs currently have a offer for Grabovski. It's a 2nd and a prospect but Burke is pushing for a 1st. wouldn't mind that at all, if we can re-sign him at a good price it could be a steal for our 2nd line C.

Edit: reading the post above, maybe its a hawks offer? i'm not sure about giving up mcneil but grabovski is a very solid option for the 2nd C position. Very good speed and hands. sees the play well and can dish, doesn't help our toughness, but he'd be perfect for the hawks transition game IMO.

Why would anyone have any interest in trying to sign Garbagovski to a 5M per year contract? I'd stop following this team for a while if Bowman moved McNeill or any other significant prospect for a guy who's not going to resign here in the off-season.

Stars are still hopeful to make playoffs ,, That asking price showed they had no interest in trading with West team they are chasing

Grabovski would be perfect #2 C

Grabovski is solid in all facets of game

If Hawks acquire him and sign him longterm that would be a coup

Grabovski would be good fit with Hossa

If Hawks can get him signed giving up McNeill is non issue as Grabovski would fill our #2 C need for several years going forward
