cgy/bos cgy/ana

To BOS- Mark Giordano & Greg Nemisz
To CGY- Krejci or Bergeron

To ANA- Mark Giordano, Mitch Wahl, 2012 1st Rounder, & 2013 1st Rounder
To CGY- Ryan Getzlaf & Devante Smith-Pelly

Its a start to try and get and/or find the number one center the #Flames have been looking for.....wondering what needs to be added either way and others opinions

Overvaluing Giordando much? The 2nd one is especially awful. Not even close. I love how you couldn't even add your 2012 1st rounder. Were talking about Getzlaf here.

Boston hangs up immediately. Krejci is worth a much better offer and Bergeron will be a bruin for life and most likely a captain after Chara. One of the best two way forwards in the league and leading them in points

Obvious what team you're a fan of and who wins these trades

Ring... ring...

"Hi, defending Stanley Cup champs? I know you guys are the reigning champs, and are having an even better year this year and can pretty much contend with the group you have right now.. but..

well, our team isn't that good and could use a #1C. Can you send us one of yours? Either the guy that lead your Cup winning team in playoff pts OR the guy who is having a great year and will be a Selke nominee.

We're willing to give you our fringe prospect who could be a decent 3rd liner and a 2nd pairing dman.

What do you say?"

I'd love to get Giordano on the Bruins. Gio for 1st and Knight?

Two first rounders and Giordano for Getzlaf? No thanks.

And Boston has little incentive to deal Krejci or Bergeron.

This however:

is something I wouldn't be against. However, Flames management is not likely to give up players for picks and prospects.

While I dunno if Gio is worth Krecji, don't underrate Gio. He's a master two way guy. Always puts up 30 plus points, near the top of the league in blocked shots (this year he missed too much time hurt) and plays with an edge, at an affordable contract. He's one of those guys you really want for a playoff run.

LOL I know you're a flames fan, but come on....Especially since Calgary is abysmal at drafting LOL. You take that and run.

Oh really? That first rounder will be 25th+, and knight will be a 3rd, maybe 2nd liner... I see that it's nice to have cheap ELC fillers to be able to keep your top guns, but for the next few years knight will be a Caron type player in my opinion. I'd happily eat crow if he develops to be anything better, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Giordano on the other hand would be right up there with seids as our 2nd best D, and we need a top4 D, especially one who can give us a clean breakout.

The Flames sucking at drafting thing is getting old, especially since our last couple drafts are looking really solid.

And as good as Getzlaf is, I don't like him much as a player. A lot of similarities between him and Bourque when it comes to inconsistency.

That deal is a lot worse for Anaheim than it is for Calgary.

Any chance Bouwmeester would get moved? I assume there could be a deal to be made there. Apparently the B's wanted to sign Bouw as a UFA a few years ago

LOL! Getzlaf has been over a ppg for the past FOUR years, and is a BEAST in the playoffs. Last year he was on pace for 93 points. Inconsistent?

This is the only year where you can say he's "struggling."

At the risk of sounding ignorant (I don't know much about current Flames prospects), over the the past 10 drafts, the Flames have only come out with 5-7 every day NHLers

So did everybody.

I think he could be moved for the right price, I think the right price is more than what most fans think it will be though.

Everybody wanting to sign him a few years ago doesn't do anything to his value, I was just stating it. Bouwmeester has clearly underachieved since signing the contract, so it's doubtful he has a large amount of value

Are you saying he hasn't underachieved his 6.6 mill contract? Of course it'll cost, hes an adequate D-man but his value has got to be lowered because of cap hit i should think. I'm going to agree that his perceived is not what it was back then

Where did I say he hasn't underachieved?

I'm calling Seguin out because its as annoying as **** when someone says "What would it take to get PLAYER X to my team."

And then, when they get a reply they **** on the player they were inquiring about.
