Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Okay, got 2 of these today, both of which i dont think i deserved.

1. Play in front of the net, goalie covers it. I stand there and some guy comes up and asks me if i think im tough, i respond with, i know im tougher than you are. Whiste. 2 for unsportsmalike. No pushing, no swearing thats it. They were coincidentials, so i dont really care, but thought id post it.

2. Again play in front of the net, and this time i whack it in. Goalie grabs my stick and stuff, and players start chirping at me, so naturally i celly hard with patrick kanes heartbreak celly. Whistle. 2 for unsportsmanlike. Never seen a ref that doesnt let you celly a goal. Mayeb he thought it was something else?

Anyway, did i deserve either 2 of these? Maybe #2, but even that was questionable imo.

1)You and another guy are jawing at each other and the ref is worried it'll get worse so he defuses the situation by sending you both off. Fair call, IMO.

2)I've never seen someone say 'celly' before, haha. If they did something to you (grabbed your stick after you scored?) then I think you'd get some leeway on your 'celly'. I don't think I've ever seen a player get a penalty for celebrating a goal either.

I was about to say, unsportsmanlike for using "celly."

Honestly an unsportsmanlike call is used as a fairly wide blanket by most rec/beer league refs. I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless it becomes a reputation thing. This call probably differs the most from ref to ref in my own experience.

As always, there are two sides to the story and I'm sure yours and the officials differ significantly. Based on what you described, you got what you earned.

First one is the ref trying to settle everything down... the penalty itself is stupid but once you get around 16 the refs need to do that to prevent the game from getting out of control.

Second one shouldn't have been a penalty but someone should have drilled you.

On the second one, what was the score? Were you winning a very lopsided contest? if yes, I'd say the call was spot on. If it's a close game then it depends on what you did in your "celly".
