Laich isn't close to full health. Johansson at 3C is clearly a message.

No kidding. Did the organization do something to him in the past that I don't know about?

I know. Maybe the team has little faith in him at the moment.

OK, what's the speculation as to what might happen trade wise? Who has scouts here?

As far as Neuvy not playing tonight, I'm pretty sure that they are starting Holtby because we have consistently blown it against SJ, and are willing to give something new a try. Nothing to lose, so why not give it a shot.

No, I understand, it's just some people seem to say, we'll get Green back, our transition game will be fine.. whereas I think it's more accurate to say our transition game sucks, but Green is a giant band-aid. Maybe I'm just nitpicking, but it's a pet peeve.

I don't know whether it comes down to personnel, either. I think transition game is more of a systems/discipline/execution thing -- teams with seemingly far less talent have seemed to do it much better than the Caps. So I'm not sure, but I think it could be more of a coaching issue..

Under Boudreau I always noticed that the Caps often had extremely poor puck support -- a defenseman gets a puck in his zone, the forwards fly away and he doesn't have options. On other teams you often see somebody drop down to give the defenseman a 10 ft short pass option... granted, it was part of Boudreau's system to get the forwards to go wide to stretch the defense, but that often seemed to break down.. with Hunter, I'm not sure what the system is..

Also, just realized Semin had 4 points in 3 games when Milbury made his comments yesterday. *******.

The Caps don't have the smarts/discipline (Edit: or skill set) to play any other system.

It's either get as much success as you can out of Boudreau's system, or retool completely.

He did crack a smile when talking about The Recker's wooden stick. Better than nothing.

I think, when the Caps have executed Hunter's system well, it's been just that. Think back to the home win over FLA last week - crisp short passes out of the zone. But then yesterday, sloppy passing and worse, a failure to be in position to get the pass/support the puck carrier.

It's no real surprise that Milbury smiles when talking about wood.
