Poulin had a fantastic night, stopping just about everything. Like others said, Cross wasn't that good. He was burned bad on the first goal, and, took a penalty, which Bridgeport scored on. He didn't take many shifts in the 2nd or 3rd. I still strongly believe Sauve is NHL ready. If he doesn't make the roster next season, he will tear up the AHL and put up big numbers.
Warsofsky was real good. Very good on the PP works the point well and gets off good shots. He even dangled his way in and got off a great shot.
P-Bruins were robbed of a goal yesterday because of a quick whistle which would have made it 2-2. The last two goals by Bridgeport were very late including an EN. Playing spoiler on Sunday against Portland, whom we have done very well against at the dunk.
How did Spooner look in his games with Providence?
I thought he looked great. His line with Sauve and Hennessy was easily the best line on Sunday. Cassidy put them out there for the PP as well. Spooner's goal yesterday was a tip in. Cohen pushed up the boards and centered a pass to Spooner where he directed towards net.
His assist on Max's goal was another nice feed from the half wall in traffic.
Colby Cohen had a good game yesterday. Probably his first good game of the year. His blast from the blue line had real zip on it. His play on Spooner's goal was nice. Didn't have those lapses in D he has had before. Deserved the first star yesterday.

Actually was Arniel with them. Hennessy may have been there on the PP as Arniel was on the point. Nice line (Arniel, Sauve, Spooner) with a lot of speed between the three.

This line looked very good!
Terrible year on paper for Arniel. He was the best center last year (imo) in winning draws and points production and considered a good defensive forward.
The Bruins are deep at center so moving Arniel to right wing was a good decision right? Ultimately he'll have to play at that position if he sticks with the Bruins. But watching this young and injured team at the start of the season and Arniel really struggling at that position, it was refreshing to see his exuberance, speed, and just plain old ice smarts back at center this past weekend (and a few times in recent games before that). Great center!
But he was a much better winger when playing with Sauve and Spooner the last game of the season too. Chemistry and speed? or just figuring it out a little late?
I like Spooner! A little more seasoning and we have a good one there.
Was at the game yesterday as well. I was wondering if the Pouliot on the Pirates is related to Benoit? I did some searching but could get an answer. They look similar in pics I found on the web, but no mention of a relation. Cousin's maybe?

I'd imagine not related Benoit is from Ontario. Marc-Andre is from PQ. But who knows. I couldn't find anything either.
Don't put much stock into that, they've been rotating players in/out all weekend
They've been waiting 5 years for this kid, he plays one game and then sits? There cannot be 6 better defensemen then him on that team, and if there is, aye carrumba.

Why are they rotating players?
Last game of the year, nothing to gain or lose so probably playing the guys who have been there are all year. Gotta say farewell to the fans!

He played 2 games. I really don't have a problem with him sitting. 3 games in 3 nights for a kid coming out of the college system might be a conditioning thing. He'll be there next year. Some of these other guys get a last chance to make an impression. Especially a bubble guy like Trotman.
Bodnarchuk was also scratched, and I'll take that as a sign he won't be back. He won the award for team's best defenseman.

I'm thinking Bods and Bartkowski (both RFA's) will both be brought back, and McKelvie and McIver (both UFA's) will be let go. Trotman and Cross will effectively replace their roster spots ...
I think my final tally was a dozen Providence games adding in 3 in Manchester and it shows how little I know because I am once again impressed with Bodnarchuk. Tough, gritty, good skater, solid both ends of the ice- to me. He's not the biggest guy and thats probably the problem but he's Sweeney size and tough as nails. He made a rush in the Bridgeport game Friday night up the middle that looked like Phil Housley.
Hope they want to retain him even if he decides to move on.

I just don't see Bods being back. Bartkowski on the other hand, wow, it's easy to forget he's already been here two years. Don't know what his upside really is. They might take one last chance with him.
I liked McIver by the end, too bad he had so many injuries. McKelvie....great guy, but I've seen enough. You can't be out of pro hockey for two years and come back and compete at this level, especially if you aren't top flight talent.
I think Bodnarchuk was only brought back by the Bruins this year to please his BFF Brad Marchand who was also negotiating a contract in the offseason. I have no proof of this but it's quite possible imo. I don't see him being brought back next year.
