I need a new TV show to watch, is Walking Dead really that good?
The first season really gets people hooked I feel like, even if it is only 6 episodes. The start to season 2 was not the same as season 1 but IMHO just as good. I've yet to see the new episode tonight but a lot of the actors claim that the second half picks up considerably. I've read the episode summaries and there is a lot they can do so hopefully it comes through.
I've thought Chuck was a good show, I've only got through season 3 though, my emotions need a break after going through 3 seasons in a week. Maybe check out The League, Psych, Dexter, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Person of Interest, Unforgettable, Monk, Community, Big Bang, Shameless.
Shows that need to die are Whitney (whitney *******'s show), 2 And a Half men, and CSI Miami.
Walking Dead was pretty good, not great but not that bad either. The end sequence was really good stuff. My problem with the show however, is that the characters seem to state everything, and don't leave much out. Sometimes dialogues are better for what ISN'T said rather than what is. An example is towards the start of season 2 when Andrea confronts Dale about "taking her choice away" and articulates it so well that it reads more like a synopsis rather than personal speech. Whenever characters in this show need to speak, aside from the sexual tension stuff with Glenn/Maggie, they know exactly what to say.
Also, the blond who was crying at the start of the episode is not a good crier.
Speaking of excellent dialogue, I recently finished The Wire and oh my god, what a show.

Based on this weeks episode, what I think the rest of the season has in store:
Spoil:
I feel like the Gov. storyline or something of the sorts is beginning. Doubtful those guys are alone if they are as well traveled as they claim (they must be from philly since they are such *******s ), since they obviously knew Hershel and his farm. With Rick well on his way to being a crazy bad ass killer, maybe they skip the prison. Edit: I just rewatched the second half teaser and there is a zombie "cop" and Rick and Shane are fighting on the back of a police car, they do find some sort of police prison/station. Kinda goes with "dead cop's gun" from the bar.

Watched the pilot and 10 min of the 2nd ep and I'm going to like it. Doesn't hold your hand through the plot and makes you figure out what's going on through context. Love it when a show/movie treats the viewer like they're smart enough to figure it out.
Plus I like Michael Mann stuff - rarely sucks from a visuals/music standpoint and he's a perfectionist.
I think this is going to be the 'make or break' season for The Walking Dead, when we wind up looking back. Curious to see how they recover from a slow 1/2 season where a lot of people gradually lost interest, and ended up not tuning in.
