I thought they would start with Stannis/Davos too, but it isn't that big of a deal since the stories aren't connected yet. I thought she didn't drink the poison and waited for him to drink it in the book. I could definitely be wrong since it has been a while since I read A Clash of Kings. Other things that happened that didn't happen in the book were the Cersei/Joffery scene and the Cersei/Baelish scene. The didn't really bother me but sometimes it is hard to remember what happened in the book when they change some things. Like always Tyrion was amazing. Robb was great. Jon was great. I wish there was more Arya since she is my favorite character, but I guess I'll have to wait until next week. Overall the episode was great and I can't wait until next week.

Oh he definitely drank it first in the book too, he just didn't start showing signs that it was poison (the blood spitting up out of his mouth and all of that) before she drank it. In the book I always felt it was quietly implied that she saw it in fires and knew it was coming. She even says to him before they both drink - are you sure you want to do this? So to me she knew. I think the show, by having the Maester start to show the signs that it was poison before Melisandre drinks it, was their way of showing she knew.
And agreed the only thing I wanted from that episode was more Arya. Next week is to long a wait.

In the book she definitely knew and saw it in the fires. I think they should have gone into the religion more and why there was the ability to switch so easily.
I have no ideal why I put GoT off for so long. I planned on watching only 2 episodes yesterday but just couldn't stop till the end of the 6th episode.
I stopped at the 6th episode as well. Then had no choice but to watch the next 4 all in one sitting. Each of them has a wtf moment and it's as if the first 6 episodes were the fun/anxious climb up the roller coaster and the last 4 are you the viewer zipping straight down in such a fulfilling way.

I originally wanted to see GoT because of Sean Bean. Watched the first episode but missed the rest. Said F it im gonna read the book. Best decision i made.

I only stopped because it was 11pm and I had to be at work at 6am. Otherwise it would have been 11hrs straight with short breaks.
I saw episode 2 also. As a person that read the books, I was extremely disappointed.
Share the link already. LOL
I don't know why people get disappointed when books turn to tv shows/ movies. You should expect to be right off the bat because it will never be like the book.
When you start reading the series and realizing how fantastic it is, youll be just like that TV guy you always post the gif of. Trust me.
I better get started.

I guess as a fan of the book it might have differed, but as someone who has mainly watched the TV Series, it was good. Not on the level as other episodes but had some good moments. I feel the coming episodes should be extremely good, after the introduction of the new characters.
