Best yet. The last couple of episodes are mind-blowing. First half of the season was tough to get a handle on where it was going. But that's what makes it so brilliant when you see the end and it all makes so much sense.

Breaking Bad is the only show I make a point of watching "live" as soon as it airs. Anything else, I'll PVR/watch online at my convenience.

Haven't watched GoT, but Breaking Bad is incredible. You've got a month, get caught up.

Breaking Bad, GoT you should probably read the books first - I plan on doing that prior to sitting down to the series.

I've followed Breaking Bad from the start, and it's ****ing glorious.

I almost forgot it's time for that to kick up again, one month? **** yes.

I cannot subscribe to this theory. Reading the books after seeing a movie is always more enjoyable imo. You get so much more from the books that if you know what's coming in the movies you just get mad when they change something or skip right over what seems a most important sub plot or characters.

I like getting floored by the good TV/Movie first, then come in behind it and get floored on a whole different level by the almost always better books.

To each their own though...

Hunt for Red October, Contact, Bat 21, and more I'm forgetting at the moment all delivered better on paper than on video for me. Plus you have a mental image to attach to the characters as you start out reading. That always helps too.

Great to hear! Netflix royally screwed me this week by not sending me my new releases hopefully I get a disc or 2 next week.

I don't recall how often I've read the book then seen the movie, but in the cases where I saw the movie first, it was definitely a more enjoyable read. The aspect in which I think it delivers best is that you can develop your own mental image of what you're reading just a little quicker. The story isn't always the same, and the extra details you get from the book just enhance it that much more. But (for me at least) the quicker you can develop a mental image of everything, the easier it is to get immersed in what you're reading. Helps the words become that much more vivid that much faster when you have some sort of base image going in. Just my take on it at least. Could understand how others perceive it differently, or maybe even hate that aspect of it.

They are the two best shows still on air, watch both.

Watch Breaking Bad season 1-4 first and by July 15th and you'll be ready for season 5. Watch the two seasons of GoT first and you'll need to wait about 9 months for a new episode.

Another great show is Shameless, Dexter is good too, but not as good as it used to be.

I'd watch Breaking Bad first. I'm not sure which I love more - they are #2 and #3 in my alltime TV list (only behind The Wire) but if you watch Breaking Bad starting now, you MIGHT be able to finish it in time for the new season to start... Whereas if you start Game of Thrones, there are only 20 episodes to watch and you have 300+ days before the next season.

Going to see Promotheus in a little while. Stoked.

There are some rare cases where the books and movies were different, but still about equal in quality. The Bourne books and movies are a good example.

Prometheus was ****ing great. loved it. I thought it'd satisfy the purists more than it did, tho. Just a fantastic new element to the series.

Alien
Aliens
Prometheus

1 2 3

No other alien movies ever existed

That's because the books and movies are ridiculously different on so many levels.

Well ya, the only things they share are the title and the medical condition of the protagonist. Literally everything else has been changed. But both are quality.

I didn't like Prometheus, alot of things felt out of place imo

the only character I liked was the robot, the ending scene was pretty cool though

the uh..how do I put this without spoiling..."engineering" story is a bit contrived. Loved the rest except for the absolutely terrible line by Theron's character that will make even the most indifferent movie goer cringe.

Can you explain why in spoilers?

Spoil:

I went in really looking forward to it but I didn't get my hopes up to high as I'm not a huge fan of Alien (I still liked it). Overall the story flew by for me and I felt the pacing was right on. Had some really good scifi moments and I actually really enjoyed most of the acting besides the over the top angry Charlize Theron.

Overall I give Prometheus a 7.5 out of 10.
