hey guys, haven't posted here in a while, but i lurk every day, but since this is the entertainment thread, i figured i'd leave this little nugget o' info: so last week i became a radio DJ @ rutgers(90.3 The Core), and i just had my second show early this morning, so if you guys want to tune in, my show is from 2-4am every sunday morning(i know, it's a bananas time slot, but i gotta take what i can get). i'm just trying to gather listeners at this point and hopefully build a following, because music is my passion, and radio is what i want to get into once i graduate.
you can follow me on twitter as well, @riolusquinos. i just posted the tracklist from my show this morning, so check it out and you can get a pretty good idea of what i play.
Well, I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey today. After seeing it I haven't got a clue how I feel about it, such a unique film. Some parts/scenes were hard to watch just because they were so damn slow. Really well made film though I have to say, considering it's age.
Couldn't really get to grips with the film (the meaning of it and so on), loved the soundtrack though!
It is a hard film to understand the first time through. Kubrick was a genius, but a little crazy too. If you see it again it's easier, although I don't know if anybody will ever get all the meaning he put in it.
Am i the only one who is wishing for Lorie to die? Carl too. I hate them so much. I need me some more Merle that badass one armed some *****.
You know a character is a dumb ***** when it's the wife of the main protagonist, mother to his son and pregnant, and most of the audience wants her to ****ing die. Awful actress, annoying character.
I don't mind Carl, although he definitely suffers from "child actor" syndrome. Other characters - Lori and Andrea in particular - are just terribly acted and they don't even have age as an excuse. Look at Laurie Holden's (Andrea's) filmography and it's joke, but she was one of Frank Darabont's "acting friends" and since he was the original show-runner, she got the gig.
Glen (the Korean guy), Shane and Rick are the only well-acted roles on the show.
i hope the walking dead episode tonight is as good as advertised. it looks awesome.
Little disappointed. The way last week's ended I expected Rick to turn more into a no looking back badass.
Shane's character is just annoying at this point, but I think it's more the awful acting of the guy playing him - pretty poor acting all around though. Very over done on all parts, but **** man, the zombies are ****ing cool and the concept alone will keep me coming back.
