Oh, thanks.

And there's no way Kreider is playing this year. That would waste a year on his ELC.

Not conventional, but I'd rather have Kreider on the team than Mitchell any day. If there's anyone that could make a decent transition it's our number one offensive prospect.

Anisimov - Stepan - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Richards - Callahan
Kreider - Boyle - Hagelin
Prust - Rupp - Fedotenko

The two fastest players in the NHL playing on the same line? Yes please.

I never said Sather was including Kreider in a trade.

Fair enough. Let's get the kid to sign a contract first before we worry about getting him in the lineup.

Tony Amonte and Doug Weight both came directly from college to the Rangers and played in the playoffs. It's not impossible but in those days, the ELC rules were much different and players couldn't become free agents until they were 31.

Not saying it won't happen but it could and it could be plausible.

I don't think Kreider's game adjusts very well to playing on a line with Brian freaking Boyle. Imagine us signing Parise in the offseason, and adding in Kreider next year...

Parise - Stepan - Gaborik
Kreider - Richards - Callahan
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Hagelin
Prust - Boyle - Rupp?(maybe he can play RW, he can play LW)

That's a deep lineup.

Without naming him, Glen Sather pretty much acknowledged Chris Kreider will sign and be a lineup option for #NYR in April.

Rangers GM Glen Sather says organization also anticipates signing some players out of college after season - wink, wink, Chris Kreider

Burning a year off Kreider's ELC on the off chance he might be able to step in and help right away strikes me as really dumb.

With Boyle? Would rather have Dubi or Arty centering those two. Put Boyle back on the 4th line where he belongs. But this is all moot as I highly doubt Kreider is coming up this year.

Wait.. If they sign Krieder after the NCAA season isn't that a year off his ECL already? What do they do?

No offense to the beat writers, but I think they're giving too much credence to Sather. Kreider hasn't busted his butt at school so he can sign with the Rangers when he's in the last month of his senior academic year. He's going to finish out the semester. Book it.

Isn't the WC in May/June while summer classes are in July/August?

Not if it is an AHL deal.

In theory, they can AHL him, give him some games and see where he is at. If he blows Gernander out of the water, maybe they go for giving him a deal for the playoffs.

I have yet another reason to root for BC to lose.

The World Championships started after his classes were over, but before his finals (I believe). He actually had to take his finals after he got back in late May.

Depends when he is signed and his classes...
It is exam time in April. It will depend on the exams and the amount that he has...

Not saying you're wrong but I'm pretty sure a few of his teammates left after the season last year for the A, and then ended up finishing their semester after the AHL season.
