Who does Saad replace? He didn't do much when he was up. He's a teenager guys, not many of those guys come up and contribute on playoff teams.
True, but if we don't grab someone before TD, it wouldn't hurt to give him a few more games to see how he fares (I think he has only played 2 games in the regular season). He has a few to go before he hits 10. Right now our top 6 are top heavy, to put it politely.

I'd rather give Morin another look before Saad. Either of them though, if they do get their look, need to at least be up for 4-5 games, not this 1-2 and done nonsense.
I've been really impressed by Mattsson this year. He's a quality goaltender. He gets himself in good position to cut off the angles for shooters and he really controls his rebounds well. Anything in the chest, he's able to corral and he generally kicks out low shots to the corner. He absolutely could not be faulted for the goals scored against him in the game. One was a deft deflection in front of the crease. The second a bang/bang play from behind the net where his defenseman left a Major wide open in front of the net. The third, he made a tremendous toe save on a partial breakaway, but none of his defenseman took the trailer on the play who cleaned up the rebound to the top shelf. While he took the loss, he stopped 35 of 38 and was impressive.
Thanks for the info on Mattsson Brock. Everytime I try to catch a Sudbury game Mattsson either isn't playing or the EastLink broadcast is crap.
As far as Saad.. like I said, I think he could help the team. He easily replaces Brunette and could fit in anywhere in the top-9, IMO. Obviously, whether you think he can help the team or not, it's unlikely he gets brought up and dropped into the playoff line-up..
I'm gonna go ahead and admit that when it comes to the AHL/Juniors and our crop of prospects I never ever keep up with how they're playing and can't give any sort of logical assessment of their skill set. Thusly for you armchair experts, I have some questions:
Jeremy Morin: What's the story? I know he had concussion problems and didn't exactly rock the world any of the times he's been briefly called up, but what's holding him back? How much more time does he need? Does he translate into a 2013/2014 piece of the puzzle or sooner?
Kyle Beach: I've always regarded Beach as a "crap or get off the pot" prospect who seems to be forever mired in the AHL. I'd just like some thoughts as to if he has any future beyond his current existence.
Brandon Saad: He's been the hot story, but where does he project next year? Does his year in the juniors merit banking on him to be a 3rd/4th line impact guy?
Mark McNeill: How's he been doing? I haven't heard much at all about him. Has there been a good/bad on him yet or is he just staying under the radar?
they will all fight for a Roster Spot. 1 will get Brunos Spot.
Beach had his problems but he turned around and finally got it. Morin, never really saw the big deal with him due to his skating. Not as bad as said, but not good enough to become the player we hope him to be
I still like Morin a lot. Morin and Saad might not be blue chip prospects, but they are just a small notch below.
I agree, I can see Saad being next to Toews and Kane, or being on 2nd line with Hossa. Morin could be next to bolland or go up with Toews and Kane as well, never know.
What really surprises me about that article is hearing that the Hawks have guys come talk to him every week.
I can't say I'm an expert on how teams develop prospects, but I never really thought that they sent scouts around as often as once a week. Do other teams do that?
In this case, the scouts and BC's coaches seem to be in agreement, but I wonder how other coaching staffs feel about it.
I have faith in Kayes. I don't think he'll be amazing, and I highly doubt he ever lives up to his draft position, but looking at all of the guys who have been coming out of the Eagles program lately, they've all looked pretty solid in the pros.

have you seen him play this year? tell me how he's doing.
and from what I understand in the article, he wants to have a chance to make the Hawks and he already said it to their GM - he hopes that he stays and the GM also said that he plays good with consitency.
