If Regehr wants to go back to Calgary.............we get their best center/forward prospect and 1st rd 2012 otherwise what was all the effort getting him here in the first place for?

This is true. While, Bruce Garrioch has been known to be wrong, he has been right in the past too, and is employed by the Ottawa Sun. He's a respected journalist amongst other hockey writers. So, while he may have heard wrong intel or maybe theres something to it?

This is what I hate about rumors. An asshat like Garrioch pulls something out of his rear, and within hours people are questioning his dedication to the area and bringing his wife into it.

Disgraceful.

Brayden McNabb looked a couple years away, now I think he is ready, just no room for him right now.

Regehr's wife moved to Calgary two years before Robyn did.

All I'm saying is that if they loved Calgary and didn't want to leave, it's not likely that they want to move to a "Big City".

And I believe that living in WNY is great for a hockey player with a family, like Regehr. It's possible that there is something there. It would surprise me, though.

I honestly dont think Regehr is good enough, and I would rather have the $4 million cap space.

I think the Sabres should trade both Regehr and Sekera though.

Why? If you're so hung up on making room for McNabb, just move Leopold.

Those suggesting we move Sekera are insane. Plain and simple.

Uh, no.

Move Weber or Leopold if you want a spot for McNabb. Sekera has been great.

When did Bruce Garrioch become "respected" by his peers? Did I miss something? Did the world end?

Just a pet peeve of mine -- we don't really know what these guys are like. He might go home at night and burn kittens with cigarettes for all we know.

Only way this makes sense to me:

"Hey Robyn, we unexpectedly suck, want to get a better shot to win a cup?"

"Uh yeah, sure."

QFT. On the credibility meter, Garrioch doesn't rank much higher than Eklund - and any of the theories / opinions that he comes up with on his own usually lack any awareness of the real-life situation on the 29 other teams he's not covering or has access to.

Just thought i'd throw this out there, several reporters are reporting tonight that Columbus is making Rick Nash available.... wasn't a "Nash being available", with NYR interested, in the same Garrioch column about Regehr and Goose on Sunday...?

Eklund has been spouting Nash rumours for 2 months - doesn't improve his credibility any.... CBJ sucks right now - hence the Rumours regarding Carter, Nash & Wiz.. and every damn rumour right now has the Rags involved...

Garrioch is on the same level as Ek & Watters - sure he hears things, but his follow-up is well below par.

Why are you still reading Eklund for 2 months...?

I don't think Garrioch is on the same level as Eklund. I don't even know if Eklund hears things. I do believe Garrioch hears stuff from his sources, but as you said, his follow-up is poor. What he hears, he posts. He has no sense of which rumbling is credible enough to put it in writing, like other writers do.

Which is where he gets into trouble and guys like Lebrun and McKenzie trump him most of the time: they have a better sense of timing and delivery. Bruce shotguns things out as he hears them, which is in many ways how Ek operates, though Eklund's "sources" seem to be mostly agents and player reps who have their own agendas regarding generating or gauging interest in their clients.

Unless there's a request on Regehrs behalf to be moved out of Buffalo, I fail to see the logic in trading him.

Of course, it's just a rumor, but let's pretend there's some truth to it - what would be the reason?
It all depends on the return. If somebody is willing to overpay for a playoff run, and you can find a piece that will make you stronger for next season and the season after, why not consider it? The Sabres mgmt is in NO POSITION to look down their nose at ANY offer.

They talk about winning Cups, well, if you want your Sabres to be a Cup winner you better hope your GM can wheel and deal on deadline day. Because there aren't too many Cup teams that have dim wits running them.

Don't forget being a total ******* when he was invited on the Sabres telecast to talk about the Drury/Neil hit right after it happened.

Why? Because he didn't tow the Sabres party line?

Are we so insecure as fans that we have to demonize out of town media who disagree with us?

IMHO, he was spot on about Golisano's letter to Bettman. That was an embarrassment to the franchise.
