Ditto and ditto. Especially having a two and a half year old son demanding my attention...man, I can't imagine what I would do without my PVR. Of course, when I'm behind in the game, it means I can't go near the computer. Facebook, Twitter, (and of course HF) all give me updates on the score now.

Are there any real-world implications for rescinding the call (such as saving him from an automatic fine) or is it more a matter of technicality?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the number of game misconducts you have is taken into account if you're up in front of Shanahan.

It could have resulted in a suspension if he received another stick-related major and game misconduct. Oh yeah and the $200 fine is also rescinded.

This resets the clock.
23.5 Fines and Suspensions – Stick Infractions, Boarding and Checking from Behind Category - In regular League games, any player who incurs a total of two (2) game misconduct penalties for stick-related infractions, Boarding – Rule 42, or Checking from Behind – Rule 44, shall be suspended automatically for the next League game of his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty, the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game.

In Playoff games any player who incurs a total of two (2) game misconduct penalties for stick-related infractions, Boarding – Rule 42, or Checking from Behind – Rule 44, shall be suspended automatically for the next Playoff game of his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty in this category during the Playoffs the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game.

Prior to the commencement of each Stanley Cup Finals, a player or goalkeeper will have his current stick-related, boarding and checking from behind game misconducts removed from his current playoff record. They will remain part of his historical record.
When a player has played in 41 consecutive regular League games without being assessed a stick-related major and a game misconduct penalty according to Rule 20– Major Penalties or Rule 22 – Misconduct Penalties, he will have the previous game misconduct penalties removed from his current record. They will remain part of his historical record.

For a list of stick-related infractions, refer to the Reference Tables – Table 11 – Summary of Game Misconduct Fouls Included in the “Stick-Related Category”. See specific rule numbers for complete descriptions.

Table 11 - Rule 23 - Game Misconduct Penalties
Summary of Game Misconduct Fouls Included in the "Stick-Related Category"

(i) Butt-ending ............. Rule 58
(ii) Cross-checking ....... Rule 59

I'm only going to be excited if we blow them out (haven't done that in awhile, though). And probably won't with how well they have been playing.

I actually don't have a real PVR. Saved myself quite a bit of money by cheating the system and just using a router (I think) so it does the job, without the pay. Ugh, PPV's were the worst. Not only was the whole show terrible, but the TV quality wasn't very good IIRC.

It's actually difficult to not figure out the score in some way. You have to avoid pretty much everything until you get home to watch the game.

I'm cheering for Phoenix and as many other teams as possible to be too close to the playoff bar to be sellers. That will make it more difficult for the Canucks to add pieces at the deadline, but the same applies to other buyers, obviously.

Not a bad idea, considering we've got less cap space to work with than anyone else.

I like it. We already have Bitz, Tanev and Reinprecht to add as "deadline" type deals too. It's going to cost a team big to add that kind of depth with the way things are looking.

I'm thinking we may see Burrows bust out tonight. He's been cold lately and is due for some goals. Also predicting Salo breaks his slump and scores on the power play. The Sedins will get three assists each. Luongo will make 30+ saves for the shutout.

4 - 0 Canucks

VAN goals:

Burrows (2)
Kesler (PP)
Salo (PP)

I think we really only need a depth defensemen (Aucoin, Allen etc) just for insurance. But, I'd be fine with more buyers than sellers because we have Tanev we can use as well, he's our secret weapon basically.
