Word on twitter is that GMGM is in the market for a 2C, top 4 D and possibly an additional F. Not a chance the first two are acquired. The F will be a 4th liner probably forced to play on a 3rd line, if we even pull that trigger.

This teams has to either do nothing or sell.....unless they're going after a Ryan Suter or Getzlaf.......they need to make it on their own unless McPhee is going for broke which would shock everyone!

Being a caps fan sucks. Never get over the hump and a gm who refuses to get them there. At least when philly didnt win they made exciting changes. When everyone said they gave up the future for Pronger, and made those crazy trades this offseason. Look at them now...serious Center depth for the next decade, though the defense needs an upgrade I have faith that Holmgren has the sack to aquire that player(s). Sucks about bryz tho..I feel like he will play better.

Green is my fave player. But if pittsburgh can get neal and niskanen for goligoski...I have no doubt 52 could bring a hefty return.

Gmgm just isnt that good. Hes made some good trades but I dont see this team winning while hes in control.

I think I'm finally moving into the sell camp.

Retool for next year and sell Wideman, Vokoun, Knuble, Ward.

Keep Brouwer, Laich, Chimera around.

Where do we think Kuznetsov will fit in next season? I'm guessing he'll have a shot at the second line right away, just not sure on position.

Depends. Is this club going to be a contender or a playoff hopeful next season?

sell Wideman, Vokoun, Knuble, Ward

Your going to be very disappointed with the return you get for that lot. I doubt you can even move Ward at that salary.

I really think Wideman could get a significant return. I think the odds of Vokoun returning a first are decent. I kind of want to resign him, though.

This Recker @#$% is #$%^ing stupid. I hope even the homers realize it now. He's not doing @#$%. Not #%^. He talked trash on the bench last night. WHOOOOOOOOPDIDINGDONG!!! It makes our team look like a @#%^ing joke even more than the actual play of the other 20 guys out there. Bring up this ass clown and appear that we are a tough team, only to circle this turd nugget around for 3 minutes a game, doing absolutely nothing.

Trade Knuble and Schultz to the Bruins for Jordan Caron and Kampfer or for Caron and a 3rd.

Trade Vokoun and Erskine to the Blackhawks for their first rounder and a prospect.

Rangers need help on their PP with a PMD, trade them Wideman for their first though I'd rather try to trade him to one of the bubble teams for a higher first rounder.

Trade Joel Ward to anybody, maybe to the Devils for the 2nd rounder we traded to them in the Arnott deal.

On the fence now about Brooks Laich, it might be time for a change in scenery for him as well.

Hockey Futures has the Capitals ranked 27 out of 30 regarding prospects. "Years of graduating top prospects has left the pool shallow at every position but goaltender." Time to reload and create some depth. Also free up some of the dead weight contracts such as Schultz and Ward. Above moves would make available about 14.6 million for signings in the off season.

What about trading Semin to an offensively challenged team like LA? Would they give up a D for him like JMFJ? A hockey trade like the one Pitt did with Goligoski last year might be needed. Maybe we could then trade Wides or Green for some good ****.

If Semin got run last night by Winchester with Recker screaming from the bench, absolutely it was a failure to dress Recker. It would also be stupid to play Knuble if its already decided he is going to be traded. Even if not, I am the only one that thinks at age 39, could use an odd game off?

Hunter on Rechlicz reason: "[Winchester] ran over Semin and Ovi had to jump in last game. So Winchester wasn't a factor out there tonight."

Realistically GMGM is going to wait to see the results of the games this weekend, especially if Green comes back and plays. I doubt Leonsis will let him sell players off if we are in the hunt. For better or worse

Green has a shot at being back this weekend per GMGM, otherwise 7-10 days.

LA is not going to trade a franchise d-man for a UFA. I agree Semin and LA could be a fit but the return is going to be considerably less than JMFJ.

JJ isn't a franchise Dman, but they don't make that trade regardless.

Um not a trade that just popped into my head but rather one being bandy about in Boston media, that is the acquisition of Knuble and Schultz.
