Trying to identify a player, #22

Hey guys,

I finally got my hands on a Team Kazakhstan jersey after years of looking around.

But I'm having some problems figuring out what player's jersey I have. There is no name on the back, only #22. I think the jerseys are the same style they wore in the Nagano olympics in 1998, but it has IIHF patches on it, so it's probably not from the actual olympics (also, it's a Tackla and not a Nike). Maybe a juniors tournament or something?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It's a 2010 jersey, but I think it's a woman's jersey rather than a men's because of the block numbers.

as opposed to the different number style of the men

Kazakhstan womens team didnt play in any competition in 2010 besides U-18 and they dont list a 22. If it was still used for this past World Championships, then the jersey belongs to Tatyana Koroleva.

Edit: Nevermind, the women dont have the gold bolding, the men do last year, not the year they were in Elite.

Edit2: If thrashman has the year dead on, then the jersey is from U-20 belonging to Alexander Kokhan, if he is off by a year, the senior side added the gold bolding after they were relegated back down to Division I and Roman Starchenko went back to 22.

that jersey is definetly from when Kazakhstan was in a lower division. Tackla makes the jerseys for Divisions I II and III. The top group is reserved for Nike.thats why its a Tackla jersey. It isnt the same design since the 1998 olympics, only the logo is the same. Anyways, it was worn in 2009. could be just a game issued or backup jersey if it shows no wear. Its possible the team had 2 sets and thats how worldhockeyjerseys got their hands on it and put it out to the market.

anyways.. on the IIHF website there are pictures of the tournament in 2009.

you can see your jersey a few pictures in .

heres the roster from the tournament

22 is Roman Starchenko..

also, for referencing any IIHF jerseys. the only and best place to look is this website here. its still under construction with jerseys being drawn up weekly . excellent website with lots of research done. check it out and show your friends.

the only reason they look different is because one is a Nike and the other is a Tackla
