I listened to the Mike Francesa - Pierre Mcguire interview and wanted to put my fist through my laptop from his ignorance and constant interruptions. He sounds like an arrogant windbag but I take it he is one of your bigger sports personalities in New York? To each his own like I say.
I can't stand francessa. I heard that he is on his way out, I love boomer and carton, always bring a great level of enterinament and sports.

Boomer always talks about hockey, but much more during this playoff season.

Might not always have the right view, but always a great amount of hockey talk in morning show during playoffs.

Wish I could've heard it. He also called Ranger fans "cry babies" on his twitter account. Really? Did he even watch the **** game? Because I'm pretty sure Ranger fans and Lundqvist are justified in their complaints.

He's an Islander fan. So it explains his "crying".

He also keeps saying the Rangers got more calls than the Senators.

Evan Roberts thinks he's a superfan because he attends 81 boring mets games and 41 miserable nets games a year.

Not impressed.

For the 1000th time, the only people worth listening to are Boomer and Somers. Good to hear zipay on Joe and Evan though

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet. There's hope. NBC is advertising like crazy on the FAN and 1050. I sent an e-mail to NBC urging them to apply the Pressure. I think NBC involvement has helped. They understand money.

Neil Best ‏ @sportswatch
ESPN Radio is moving to 98.7 FM in New York, the long-time home of R&B station KISS-FM.

Neil Best ‏ @sportswatch
Michael Kay show will be on only 3 to 6 p.m. (not 7) starting Monday on new ESPN NY slate. Stephen A. joining Ryan Ruocco from 1 to 3 p.m.

Neil Best ‏ @sportswatch
ESPN not wasting any time with move to FM. New spot on dial launches April 30. But 1050 AM probably will continue to simulcast for a while.

Neil Best ‏ @sportswatch
ESPN is NOT buying KISS FM, just renting space on that channel. ESPN definitely will bid aggressively for Yankees after this season.

Neil Best ‏ @sportswatch
If ESPN does land Yankees next year - which CBS will not give up w/out a fight - that does not necessarily mean curtains for John and Suzyn.

If it were up to Boomer, their whole show would probably be hockey. I enjoy listening to him b/c he's the only one who you could really listen to who is passionate and honest about the Rangers and knows what he's talking about. As far as Francessa, he basically admits that he knows very little (nothing) about hockey yet he still opens his big fat mouth about stuff that he should just keep to himself b/c he sounds stupid.

And I get annoyed at people who say "The Rangers won, just get over it..." The fact that they won doesn't take away from the fact that they have been getting screwed. Just b/c the Rangers won doesn't mean that we should sweep it under a rug and not talk about it.

New home for ESPN radio

My apologies, but I'm not really sure where this thread is supposed to go. So mods, feel free to move to where you think it's appropriate.

Looks like ESPN will finally have a strong signal as they've purchased 98.7 KISS FM and will be broadcasting from that station starting April 30th. 1050 AM will be an all-Spanish sports station.

cool, although I didn't realize that KISS was gone. About time I'll be able to actually listen to Rangers games while driving. Although I wonder what the overflow station will be? Will they use 1050 when both teams play at the same time?

I'd imagine they'd use both. But I have no idea.

Normally I hate to see sports on FM stations because I do a lot of driving and AM stations have much better signals. That being said 1050's range is horrible anyway so there's no big change here.

My girlfriend is from North Carolina and when we go down there I can get the Yankees games crystal clear on WCBS 880 (600 miles from New York). 1050 rarely comes in in south Jersey.

Yeah, 1050 was awful. I'd get a better single with a can and some wax string.

This is great news. Where we live in Monmouth county we get NY and Philly radio stations. Both 94.1 and 97.5 (ESPN) Philly sports stations come in perfectly, but 1050 fades away completely west of the GS Parkway.

Can finally listen to the Rangers all the way to our house!!!
