Who do Hawks fans value more, Sharp or Kane?

Kyper must be bored. Chicago has no reason to trade Kane

At the cost of Kane though? why not just go after Schneider?

Vancouver will not trade Schneider to Chicago. You can bank on that.

Why give up a top-3 RW in the game for a goalie who's 10 years older than him?

It doesn't make sense. Just because it fills a need doesn't mean it's a good trade. Trading Toews for Nabokov, for example, is obviously more lopsided but just as silly. Because neither would ever happen.

It's pretty hard to argue that Thomas wasn't the best goalie in the world a year ago.

It's better than a straight-up trade.

I think Roy is underrated but then again, I think Miller is overrated.

The Canucks would not trade with the Hawks. Too much bad blood.

A) don't see CHI and VAN being eager to pull off any trades that may help the other team

B) Scheider won't be much (if at all) cheaper. Not saying he's better, but VAN clearly values him and will be asking quite a lot in return for him.

Because short of Toews/Kane/Sharp/Keith/Seabrook coming back to us, there's no chance in hell the Canucks give a potential franchise goalie to their biggest rival.

Yes, I know Schneider isn't worth that much.

As I already said, Miller had one very good year or so and the rest of his career he has been good.. why trade a player who is already ppg at almost a decade younger than him? It may be a solid base for a deal seeing as it fits needs, but you are crazy to think their value is equal.

Hawks would be better just to try to get a player like Harding for the rest of the season and address goaltending (which as I also said earlier is easier to find than a player like kane) further after the season. Crawford + upgraded #2 is plenty good and doesn't cost you a ppg 23 year old playmaker who was a huge part of winning a cup recently.

Better to be patient if you are Chi....even if they bomb out in 1st rd or miss playoffs...

next season you add a solid vet to tandom crawford... hopefully hes over the sophmore jinx.

add some defensive depth, without overpaying dearly for dmen at trade deadline.... see if another year helps the talented forwards/prospects make the team as solid contributors next year.....

they could get a top 4 and a number #2 centerman(better than BMO) get kane to wing....
and make a good run but at the expense of a fair amount of their prime prospects?????

chi fans can chime in if its worth it or to be a much better/deeper team next year?????

IMO, even if Miller wasn't having an off year, BUF would have to add something tasty to get CHI to agree. Not a terrible start for a deal, but extremely unlikely.

I'm all for sending 4.5M per year offsheets to Schneider and Rask, whoever signs first, gets the job.

I was using Schneider as an example guys, I was simply saying why not go after a younger, more controllable goalie as opposed to a big cap hit older goalie.

You don't have to give up a top line talent to get a freakin starter. They won the Cup with Niemi, it's not like they can't find someone above average with the amount of 2-way talent on the team to protect them from other elite scorers. Plus they managed to get rid of all their gigantic contracts and keep the core intact, why waste all the effort now on a goalie who might not even put them over the top.

Sure, let's trade the 23 year old, PPG, elite playoff performing RW who's locked up for 3 more years for an above average 31 year old goalie with 6 m cap hit because Kane's struggling like the rest of the team.

This Miller for Kane garbage has been spewing for two years and it's never gonna happen. It's beyond dumb for the Hawks. Adding Stafford or whoever doesn't make it any better. It needs to stop.

From what I've read/seen, a LOT of Chicago's defensive woes have come from a lack of actual defense, not just goaltending. They need an overhaul in both of these facets.

This deal is not happening. I highly doubt we'd trade Kane for Miller and Myers.

I'd strongly consider it, make it Getz instead and it's done IMO.

More realistically Chicago would send over some draft picks for Rask

Not a chance Sabres package Miller with Myers. Not even on your xbox.

This is a bad deal for CHI in my opinion.

For starters, Miller is 31...Patrick Kane is 23, he hasn't even hit his prime yet.

People might argue that the Hawks have Toews, Sharp and Hossa but keep in mind that Sharp and Hossa are both aging. Hossa in particular is a big question mark in terms of his injuries going forward.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems like a bad trade for Chicago, both from a hockey stand point and a business stand point.
