17-year old Joel Pohjanpalo from HJK (Helsinki) turned down Liverpool's 3 year offer. They wanted him to join them in July when the transfer window opens. He set a goal scoring record in Finnish division 2 (3rd tier) with 33 goals for Klubi 04 (the farm team of HJK) and scored in the league cup final recently where Liverpool's representatives were in attendance. Haven't seen him play but I'm mostly happy he won't turn into another Lauri Dalla Valle.
he's only 20 still and hopefully fulham gives him chances next season
By the way, Pohjanpalo scored a hat trick in 3 minutes in the Finnish league opening round today.
was just about to post this
i hope he stays for this season and next season and not do what ring and pukki have done and moved at the first chance and now are hardly getting playing minutes but sure the money hjk got for them really helps the club financially
Saw an interview to Fabio Capello yesterday night:
he wants to coach a couple more seasons
he wants to coach a club
good chances he will be back next season, only need a proposal he likes
he will probably coach abroad.
Now what follows is all speculation on my part:
the door might still be open for one more shot in serie A, there have been many rumours along the past couple of years about inter, but i have a gut feeling that it would only open that door for Napoli.
Mind you, not him nor anyone else that i know ever mentioned that eventuality, but if Napoli somehow manages to land the 3rd Champions League spot, things might get interesting..
You don't get a medal for finishing 2nd/3rd/4th, the world would be a better place if people understood that. If I saw Suarez meeting with a guy from PSG I would know that he was going to leave. Just sayin'.
RVP's going to be 29, it's time to go play for a club interested in winning things. Any player in his shoes would think the same thing. Like Fernando Torres did. Whether they be wrong or right.
There's absolutely no chance RVP's going to stay with Arsenal very much longer. He'll leave like Toure, Cesc, Nasri, Adebayor, Henry (fill in more names as needed) before him.
edit: Kenny Dalglish was in France watching Toulouse vs. Montpelier. Giroud or Belhanda please!

Reason: added some transfer related news
Real Madrid apparently have a deal in place for Axel Witsel. Benfica would receive about 18 million euros. Madrid are also trying to beat out Inter to the signing of Lucas Moura
Chelsea and Tottenham are in hot pursuit of Hulk. The Blues are ready to offer 35 million pounds
Liverpool are tracking Gaston Ramirez and could pay up to 20 million euros
Inter will try and sign Oscar if they lose out on Lucas
Marin is a bit of a head-scratcher for a club like Chelsea. He hasn't exactly been impressive at Bremen, and for quite a while. Nothing about his performances screemed top-club to me. He's still fast, and has a decent touch, but I'm a little floored. I would be surprised to see him make a big impact with the Blues.
