NO way does that ever happen. I know you said Ideally but even Ideally I don't think that happens.

You guys need a d-men going the other way you say... what about taking a "fan favourite" back in Kurtis Foster?

C'mon, you want you want Foster back Minny.

Foster and a 3rd for Zidlicky? Foster is UFA at seasons end.

TSN is getting desperate for some trade news.

This just in: It could rain tomorrow in Vancouver.

not quite on zidz

there is less dman available and he is one of the offensive ones left, given that him and our coach have had their issue its not hard to come to the conclusion that he could be moved.

The Wild (really any team) don't want Foster and we don't need a D back, Scandella is back up and I am assuming we are just going to roll him and let him develop the rest of the year. Prospects/picks are probably what we are looking at for Z. At the beginning of the year Zid was probably worth around something like a 2nd and 4th, now though after complaining and his terrible play I would guess a 3rd, maybe maybe a 2nd from a contending team. If some team wants to trade us a young PMD prospect though I wouldn't be opposed

Has he recovered 100% from the concussion? Is he soft? Has he slowed down a lot due to age? Does he have anything left in the tank.

If so and he just needs a change of system/scenery, I would be good with Ottawa giving him a shot.

Yes. No. No. Yes. He just isn't working in the system and especially with the coaches.

he is soft, but has recovered from concussion

he has slowed down because well he just hasn't looked comfortable on this years wild from day one aside from a few games where he looked old self, a new team will get him going last year and the year before he was quite good

I'm not convinced it'll be the Sens, but surely someone will take a chance.

Honestly it seems like he had a stroke or something and completely forgot how to use a stick. If he ever stops bobbling passes and mishandling the puck he could be just as good as he had been in the past. He still puts himself in good offensive position, he just seems to blow up the play every time. His defense has always been his weak point but its not too terrible, he looked like Lidstrom next to MAB and Skoula. At this point I completely expect him to be a good player on another team, but he is just trash with us for whatever reason, yeo's playstyle or his mental state being the leading contenders.

Hadn't even heard of this guy before but his HF description seems interesting, real late bloomer and sounds like a very similar player to Spurgeon for us. Can you let me know a little bit more about him?

Small but a good skater. Can move the puck up the ice, play the powerplay and has a shot that gets on net. He's a latebloomer who would slot in nicely as a 4/6. With our depth on defense he's expendable with Merill and Urbom on the rise. Devils fans love the kid but we could use a veteran puck mover like Zidlicky if he's able to rebound. The extra year is going to scare off a lot of teams.

NYI makes a lot of sense, aside from the contract Zidlicky has.

Otherwise, I could see Dallas being a destination...

Want.

What does Minnesota actually want in return though? This is a no brainer for me me as an Ottawa fan, anything to take Jared Cowen or Chris Phillips off the PP.

We aren't going to be anywhere near the cap, so next year's salary doesn't dissuade my interest any. Hopefully allows us to go into next year with this D-Core:

Kuba-Karlsson
Cowen-Gonchar
Phillips-Zidlicky

Somebody get Fletcher and Bryan Murray on the phone right now.

I think we've found Zidlicky a new home.

I'm curious as to potential cost. Maybe a B-C prospect + a 3rd rounder? You want Louie Caporusso + Nashville's 3rd Round pick?

How small is small? We aren't exactly imposing on our blue line, and Spurgeon looks to be a fixture going forward.

As for straight value, I'd expect something around the value of a 2nd round pick. They probably want a body for him, so a B-level defense prospect would probably get it done. Remember, this team was so depleted on defense due to injuries early this year that we had to emergency sign a minor league player so we could ice 6 defensemen.
