Edm - Tor

To Toronto:
Ales Hemsky
Conditional pick (2nd in 2013 if Hemsky walks at ufa this summer 5th if he does)

To Edmonton:
Keith Aulie
Nazem Kadri

*TML has to clear cap to make it work but could waive a few under performing big ticket contracts (ie. Komisarek, Lombardi)

Putting aside the "Burke hates Lowe" argument, how does this trade work for each side...

**EDIT: sorry if this has been posted before! I don't read every post and scroll through piles of posts to make sure I'm not wasting your time! If I am just keep on truckin'

Perhaps I'm in the minority but I probably wouldn't even do Hemsky for Aulie straight up.

Doesn't fill any of Edmonton's needs, better off just trying to resign Hemsky imo.

We don't need any more salary on our IR.

No way from the Leafs, Hemsky would be a non-factor on the team, and why the hell would we move two valuable asset for a rental with injury problems when we already ton of them.

Kadri may not have much value in the eyes of other fans, but he is still a valuable peice in our organization and will be for a long time unless a significant comes back. I would be hesistant to move the guy as I see him fitting him our core group when the salary dump negative contributor business like Connolly/Lombardi/Armstrong gets cleared up.

It's okay that HF thinks so lowly of Kadri and apparantely he seems to be a bust in eyes of many posters but we will gladly keep him as an important peice to our sucess that we are trying to build steadily.

Don't want Hemsky. Would rather keep Aulie and Kadri.

I'm with you on this one. Hemsky will never be a Leaf.

the often injured Hemsky, pending UFA, who is producing at 0.57 PPG and is not a necessity for two promising prospects?

Atm, Hemsky's value is a 2nd round pick or a prospect with a good chance of becoming an NHL regular. Aulie fits that bill and that leaves you with Kadri for nothing. IMO Kadri>MPS but their value is very similar.

Talk about undervaluing Hemsky...

Edmonton has made it clear that the asking price is a 1st and a dman (prospect). Whether they get it or not is entirely different (NAS seems to have interest). Proposing anything less is a waste of time. Nevermind EDM adding a second too...

Also Burke wouldn't add Kadri into a deal for Hemsky. He wouldn't get hosed in a trade.

That is terrible

Hemsky is having his worst season to date and is a soon to be a UFA with the potential to be one hit away from being sidelined for the rest of the season.

MPS is overhyped with even less results your point being. The value in the OP is terrible.

I wouldn't even do this if MPS was included.

Massive pass.

You are not. I wouldn't take Hemsky for free right now cuz he's just not worth anything to the Leafs. He's weak and frail and is a walking injury just like Andrei Markov. Basically any trade for Hemsky is trading players/picks for less cap space and the loss of assets.

You got that right from Edmonton Ahl scrub wannabe forward and most likely bust and a 7th dman and we give up a 2nd loool

Ya that's not accurate.

I pass. Hemsky is the opposite of what we need. We need a big and tough top-6 who can score, not one who is small, soft and injury prone. We have Connolly already.

Aulie looks awesome, it usually takes shutdown d-men a while to adjust to the NHL, and Kadri is on his way. That's a lot of long-term success for something short term that won't even really help us.

So Aulie cant crack A regular role on a team that has more goals against than the Oilers has looked awesome and Kadri has been overated by the Leafs to comical Levels.
