Was only able to catch the 2nd, but they looked really good. Great zone pressure and passing. Only negative I saw (in the limited time) was the neutral zone movement.

EDIT: One other observation. This annoyed the piss out of me. I noticed three different times Suter grinding in the corners with only one hand on the stick. Come on man! Two hands! You learn in midget hockey!! (I kept yelling at my TV)

Great win!!

Go Preds!!!

He's keeping that other hand free to re-sign with us.

That would be awesome if he all the sudden leaned over the boards and signed while grinding with Kane in the corner.

Very poor choice of words, especially for those with overactive imaginations...

Big win last night. Not a sellout, but the atmosphere was still great.

It could have been really damaging for this team's psyche to be the team that Chicago broke their streak against, so I was super happy to get the win.

Now let's go break the streak in Detroit!

BTW, anyone see what happened with the beer by the Chicago bench? Looked like someone threw a beer onto the Chicago bench.

I assume it was a drunk preds fan, but with the way the Blackhawks are playing, it could have been one of their fans.

I also didn't see the resolution, but I assume said beer thrower was ejected.

I didn't see the beer, but i did see security escort one person out from that area. the guy just had on a dark sweatshirt , so i couldn't tell anything about him.

All I know is they've got to get these bad line changes worked out. That's something that's been burning us at least once a game for the last few.

Did anyone else notice the lack of intensity of people yelling during the anthem? There were plenty of red shirts--though certainly not as many as there were before, due I'm sure to it being a weeknight. Either Paul's request for "respect" or their lack of enthusiasm for their team seemed to do the trick. The few that tried to start it didn't get much participation.

I really don't care what they do at their own arena but the general feeling at our arena is that it's not the sort of thing you drown out.

I also noticed he tossed in the respect comment, glad he did. I was ready to give the stink eye to the ding dong Blackhawk fan behind me if he started piping up. I did hear one melonhead, one only, who was clapping through the whole thing, he was in the area of the all you can drink section I think so that explains that.

Losing 9 in a row tends to do that to a fan base

Yep. It seemed just like a normal anthem night. The bandwagon fans must have fallen off.

The 75-76 Flyers won 20 in a row at home in regulation. No overtime or shootouts that season. I think that's a much bigger accomplishment.

I doubt it. Those prob were the bandwagon fans from the local area. In a few weeks when we play them on a Saturday night again in Nashville, I expect the normal travelers.

They still only did 20 in a row during a single season. Detroit has done 21 now. Still historic. Often times it's not how, but how many. I want to see the streak end before it ties the multi-season home winning streak of 22.

a few observations from last night:

1.) I seriously have zero clue why Halischuk ever gets scratched. I can almost count on 2 hands how many times he single handedly cleared the zone, skated up the ice with it, and dumped it in deep when we were under some pressure last night.

2.) I thought Smith played one of his better games of the season last night. Too bad he didn't have anything to show for it stat wise.

3.) As good as Smith looked, I thought Wilson looked just as bad.

4.) Ellis played excellent on the defensive end all night. One time in particular, Boullion was caught flat-footed (in the 3rd period) and thought for sure Stalberg was going to get a clean breakaway. But Ellis took a couple of quick steps and threw his body into Stalberg to knock him off the puck. Which leads to my next point:

5.) Stalberg is terribly underrated. Outside of their top 4, he was the only other person that caused us any trouble. He has some great wheels for a guy his size.

6.) IMO, the GWG was a softie given up by Emery. I don't care if it was deflected 18 times before it got in on Emery. To allow a puck to trickle in 5-hole after your team just dominated ours for 15 straight minutes is... weak. Although, I will have to say, Emery made some good tough saves all throughout the evening and looked really good up until that moment.

7.) IMO, the reason why Chicago is winless in 9: They are selfish. I can't tell you how many times Kane, Toews, and Sharp all entered the zone with passing options and elected to try and stick-handle through 3 people all by themselves. With that being said, I wish the Preds had ONE player that could be selfish like that (because you first have to have the ability to be able to do it).

that has just started...i think that they are all trying to do it themselves now which isnt going to help anything

I haven't been able to watch much Predator hockey this year but watched last night's game and thought Crispy was dead on when he said that Klein and Josi didn't look too good. Has that been an ongoing problem or was that just a bad night for the pair? Also, Fisher had some nice chances that would have been nice to see buried but can't complain given his production as of late.

I thought Klein looked great actually. Josi yes, he didn't have a great game. Bad games for him have been popping up more frequently lately.

Just this morning on 102.5:

Darren McFarland, "Barry, Cripsy said ... [sic] ... do you agree?"

Trotz, "Crispy says a lot of things."

I thought Josi had a rough game. Lot of responsibility to go from rookie in the headlights to #4 in just a couple of months.

IMO, a middle pairing D is more important for this team at the deadline than a top 6 (though I'd prefer both )

I was offline yesterday so didn't get a chance to chime in. Tuesday nights contest was the best game I've seen since Monday night's Canes/Habs matchup. Chicago came out in the 3rd doing what needed to be done and Rinne gave your guys the chance to win. Huge victory.

As for the earlier comments about the anthem; take it from some one who witnessed the carnage of Atlanta Thrashers hockey up close. Butts in the seats, no matter what color the jersey, is needed for the long term sustainability of any franchise. As long as they want to come to your town and spend their money you should be able to put up with their boorish behavior.
