Well, since everyone here seems to believe in the "church of Yeo," and I was put on blast by some for questioning if he'd be around for long, put this in your pipe and smoke it:
Coach Mike Yeo predicts it will take 94 points for the Wild to reach the Western Conference playoffs, which means they need 36 points in their final 27 games.
"Very doable," he said.
Although the Wild are still trying to dig out of one of the worst slumps in team history, Yeo said the situation is correctable. He points to the return of Mikko Koivu from a shoulder injury during a key eight-game stretch.
"With Mikko in the lineup, we're a better team," he said. "We have him back, and that line has been scoring goals for us."
Yeo also emphasized that 16 of Minnesota's final 27 games are at home, and that the Wild will be playing Calgary, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago, Colorado and Dallas, all teams within reach of them in the standings.
I know we always ask for more shots and less passing out of our blueline guys... but my god does Cully find the absolute worst percentage places to take his slapshots. Does he really think slappers from the boards are going to go in? Easy save + hold for any goaltender. Absolutely destroys the offensive pressure.
