I've only gone through one run so far but in that one run my chopper got taken out with a rocket launcher, and then I was led through an abandoned hospital by the radio operator of the town I was being sent to all the while evading denizens of the undead. The story comes on in between songs so I made an "Appropriate Zombie Chase" playlist and it worked pretty well.
Fortified the town with things I found along the way from ammo to med kits to underwear and am pretty anxious to see where the story goes from here. I wanna know who the hell shot at me and killed my pilot dammit!

That sounds like a lot of fun.
I usually play Skyrim when I bike, but that would be a nice change of pace.
are you referring to the Hunger Games, Clock? I was looking for some more reading material...
Just finished the 4th book in Game of Thrones... 4th book was "meh"; all the reviews I've seen for the fifth book said it sucked....

I am. The third is so bad that it actually gives me pause to recommend reading the series.
I'm reading "Boy's Life" right now based on your tip, by the way. Great so far.

It's the same quality as AFFC. Consider that originally they were the same book until GRRM split them up.

Thanks Clock... My daughter read the series but she hasn't given me her opinion of it.
A Boy's Life is awesome. I'm looking forward to hearing what you thought of it.
As for the 3rd Hunger Games book, it isn't anywhere near as good as the first two, but not so bad that I wouldn't recommend them.
I thought it was one of those sad cases (a la "The Matrix") where a successor actually manages to make the previous entries worse.
Spoil:
- Half of the book Katniss is drugged or emoing about.
- Way too much of the action happens "off screen." Really, we don't get to watch the capitol go down, because Katniss gets knocked out... again? Snow dies offscreen? We don't get to see any of the trial?
- Katniss's big mission at the end was completely pointless, which makes the entire thing in turn feel meaningless. Their team goes through all of that, only to have the rest of the rebel forces show up at the end and win the day? The mission accomplished nothing.
- The Gale / Peeta resolution was awful. Basically, she goes with Peeta because Gale moves to another district? All of that setup for that?
- Snow was apparently an idiot. The rebellion basically walked right in and took over from the way the book made it sound.
- Pods in the city? Ugh. Lazy writing to try to relate the games to the mission.
- Shooting down hovercraft with arrows. GTFO.
The REAL biggies:
- Katniss is used like a tool throughout the entire series. One would've hoped that by the end of the third book, she'd take matters into her own hands. NOPE. Sure, she kills Coin, but then she's immediately locked up for trial (which, of course, we hear nothing of) and then back to her district where she apparently just has two kids and eventually dies. Her character stepped backward in the series.
- Katniss is downright unlikeable in the third book. She mopes around and then avoids Peeta because it's too tough to try to help the guy who saved her life multiple times? Blargh. Hated the way she was portrayed.
- Poor writing. The way Collins killed off major characters like Katniss's sister, Finnick, and Cinna was so nonchalant that I didn't realize that these folks were actually dead until a page or two after the fact.
Collins really needed another two months of writing time on it. Major themes are glossed over, Katniss isn't likeable or relatable (worst offense), and the story is far too detached from the actual rebellion.
OG, I would recommend reading just the first book. It was, by far, the best one of the series, and it also actually ends. There's not a major cliffhanger or anything, so you could read the first, stop, and you probably wouldn't feel like you missed much. The second book is good, but it'll basically force you to read the third.
If we're talking Fantasy books, has anyone else read The Way Of Kings by Brandon Sanderson? What are your thoughts if you have? Me, I loved it. Can't wait for book 2.

Favorite Sanderson book by far.
Sadly he hasn't started work on Book 2 and likely won't until next year if his blog is to be believed.
Grilling outdoors is a YEAR ROUND thing! LOL In fact, it's even more enjoyable grilling outside while the snow is falling. Corn and steak on the grill, nothing better.
I get why we call it griling season, but for the hard core griller, it never ends.
