Very nice production value on the highlightes. Hopefully UNB can start doing something similar.
I was talking to UNB's former video coach Andrew Brewer on twitter, and he said a lot of "top" teams dont want to do highlights (like the ones i do, or like Laurier and Toronto do) cause it creates a goals for/goals against library for teams in other conferences for Nationals.

In the CW all games are recorded and tapes are shared. I thought I saw a rule those were also shared for nationals.

UQTR defeats Ryerson 7-5 this afternoon, with an empty netter. This is the first round series I find most captivating because Ryerson have been doormats for as long as I've been following this league. I'd love to see them win this series.

In the west, I think the most interesting series is Windsor and York. I think Windsor, York, and Brock are all quite capable of knocking off Western and Lakehead (assuming Lakehead gets past Guelph). Second round should be very entertaining.

STFX 3 Moncton 2

X surprisingly outshout them 49-33. Scoring chances were about the same IMHO. Perricone looked to be back to his old self. Moncton had a one goal lead going into the second. X got a power play goal early in the third, Macllelan got the winner about 10 minutes later. Overally a pretty intense game. Commentators said there was a scuffle in the pre-game warm-up.

Bryce Swan was sitting out for X. Not sure how serious an injury he has.

same with the OUA. gametapeexchange.com is what we use to download games for pre-scout.

Lakehead 3 Guelph 2
(Thunderwolves win series 2-1)

Only watched the end of this one. Lakehead scored with just 48 seconds to play in regulation.

re: UdeM at SFX.

Both goalies played very well. Moncton still looked a bit better than SFX but the X-men certainly played better than Thursday night. McAvoy was the best player on the ice with Cote and Faille a threat to score whenever they had the puck. As for the pre game festivities, there were words between Chisholm and Bergeron and in an instance there were 40 players gathered around the logo at center ice glaring at each other. Nothing came of it and it didn't appear to effect the game. SFX will have to do the same and more on Monday if they hope to advance.

Bryce Swan has a foot injury (tendon I think) suffered last week against SMU. Word is he may not play for a while.

Good to hear from you, gulag. I was thinking that the bridge you live under may have fallen on you. You just can't give up on the Acadia bashing can you?

I don't know about PEI either, I reserve judgement in either case, but here is some alternate evidence:

Acadia 4 UPEI 3

Watched the second and third periods of this one. Pretty solid effort all around by the Axemen. I actually thought the Panthers would sweep this series.
Still I think they will take it tomorrow night.

he got cut on the back of the calf with a skate against smu, really deep. Xs d looked shaky for about the first half of the game, UDeM had over half a dozen breaks and odd man rushes, but they really clamped down near the end. perricone easily was the first star of that game

UQTR recovers from that butt whooping by Ryerson on wednesday night to take the series in 3 with a 5-3 win. Carleton and Toronto going to OT in game 3.

Not sure how many people watched this game, but it was definitely a well-fought, see-saw game. Too bad UofT dropped it, they were buzzing like crazy in the first OT. Feel particularly bad for Sheehan, his saves kept the team in it. That said, I'm looking forward to the Ravens-UQTR matchup in the second round.

Yep. Box score link here. Even their most recent matchup was a pretty gritty, trench warfare-type game too.

UQTR vs Carleton will be a last man standing Cage Match Battle Royal with the winner having nothing left for the final against Ottawa who will advance over McGill with the help of "divine intervention".

Moncton finishes off X

Moncton beat X 1-0 tonight to move on to face SMU in the semis, in a series where the winner likely goes to nationals (assuming UNB wins the other semi).
X had a goal waved off with about 3 minutes left, anyone know why this goal didn't count? The feed I watched it on was in french so I had no idea why it was waved, seemed like a good goal to me on the wrap around.

Great showing for the AUS as both Moncton and PEI had sell-outs tonight.

UPEI 6 Acadia 5 (2ot)

Actually felt bad for the Axeman. Felt they deserved to win this one. Especially in overtime. I guess that first period really did them in.

Did anyone else think Mosher deserved to get pulled?

UPEI 6 Acadia 5 Double OT

Yup and both went home happy, At the McLaughlin, Acadia attacked, The LW gained the zone but slid the pass back up high to the far Right Def. Never put a pass back high in OT I was taught from age 6 I think. Anyway three guys waiting in the middle, one Acadia guy, he tangled up one of them, but that left Carter and MacIssac (Mike) back on one Acadia def, MacIssac slid it across to Carter beautifully, Carter in all alone on DiSilvio, lights out.... Acadia played well though, I thought carried the OT's for the most part. They had a hard time penetrating the last defenders though, always even or out manned. PEI needs time to recuperate right now, so they had better make the most of it with who they are facing next.
