LOL at Ranger fans trying to hype their prospect on the trade board in regard to the Nash situation.
Helllllllllllllllllo (with the Herm Edwards voice), the trade did not, I repeat, did not go threw. Here's a shot in the dark... Maybe it's because the package offered wasn't good enough

I had way too many arguments with people about this one. One that has been a Rangers fan for about 3 weeks started saying how ridiculous Columbus' demands were, to which I had to reply that you don't get star forwards for nothing and you have to pay up if you want to acquire one. He didn't seem to get the concept that they are entitled to demand what they want, since Nash is signed for 6 years and the Blue Jackets do not have to trade him (not to mention there are enough bidders so they can take the best offer they get, wherever it may be from). Despite me never saying whether or not I agreed with the idea of not making the trade, his 3rd or 4th reply suddenly changed to "Just wait until we sign Parise and your captain is scoring 40 goals for us."
Of course I had to point out to him that Parise is already signing with 28 other teams as well, so he has no time to go to the Rangers. Called him out about him bleeding blue for all of 3 weeks to which he replied that its been almost two years and that he educated himself about hockey. When I asked him to tell me what contract he would give Parise (years + $), so that I could point out the cap issues they could have if they made such a move, the only response I got was "I'm a fan, not a GM, so I don't need to know that stuff." This bandwagon craze needs to end.
Why would there have been compensation? He was an assistant getting a promotion.
I just have a memory that the Devils wanted something (I lived in LA, so I vaguely recall reading it in the paper at the time). After a quick search, I turned this up: http://www.nytimes.com/1995/07/26/sp...%201995&st=cse

It is believed that Robinson will sign a four-year contract, but LOU LAMORIELLO, the Devils' president and general manager, said yesterday that New Jersey, contrary to the team's earlier position, would not seek compensation for Robinson's release. Lamoriello said he did not want to stand in the way of Robinson's becoming a head coach in the N.H.L. for the first time.
Accidentally found these tweets. Just gained even more of my respect.

Damn Lou, you should've asked for their 2008 1st round pick.
I'd love for Marty to be our next GM. 2 years working with Lou would help. A darkhorse for me is Stevens but he'd probably be going to jail for attempted murder his first trade deadline.

Attempted? If Stevens tried, I have no doubt he'd succeed.
The Cubs always have and probably always be my #3 team. Really #4 behind whatever team I'm working for. Baseball has been dead to me since I left the sport
I was feeling a bit masochistic last night so I moseyed over to the main board and wandered into a poll thread of Ovechkin prime vs. Lindros prime. It was made up almost entirely of "Lindros AINEC" posts.
