I was feeling a bit masochistic last night so I moseyed over to the main board and wandered into a poll thread of Ovechkin prime vs. Lindros prime. It was made up almost entirely of "Lindros AINEC" posts.
I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS
Because the prevailing (and incorrect) narrative on Lindros is that he could have been the best player ever if big bad Scott Stevens didn't end his career with dirty hits.
Of course, the truth is that the dumbass didn't keep his head up.
Ovechkin has one bad year and everybody forgets how dangerous of a goal scorer he is.
I thought you cold always sign players in the lasy year of the contract. I know we can sign Zach today...
You can and there's been plenty of extensions already signed this year by several teams. Lots were done right before the deadline too as a signal of good faith.

WOW... when I posted the news, the length of the deal was the only thing that was announced.
Parise and his agent are licking their chops right about now if you ask me. If Grabovski is earning 5.5M$ per over the next 5 years, what will Zach demand, 7.5M$ or 8M$ per?
I personnaly think that his demands will be over the top and Lou will pull the same move he did with Gionta, Martin, Gomez and everyone else who demanded deals wich are seen as above market value.
If that's the case, Lou should go all-in for Suter. I'd overpay for a legit #1 d-men like Suter, whitout blinking... not so much for a left winger when we have our key guy locked up for the next decade and a half.
My guess... between 7M$ and 7.5M$, wich will mean that Lou will probably let him walk. There's no way that Zach is going to take 500K more then what Grabovski just got and if he does, he's a idiot in all honesty.
The fact that the UFA market is dying by the second, stars like Suter and Zach will hit the jackpot.
